You could try add/delete programs in your control panel. It may be listed there.

Ad-Aware and Spybot Search&Destroy are both free programs that generally work well at removing such things.

I did have something loaded that was redirecting my browser (I.E. only). Eventually it went away but nothing I ran could detect it.

I also had McAffee anti-virus and it did not detect it.

Also try "View", "Toolbars", and see if its listed there. If it is, uncheck it.

Is this the MYSEARCH bar? That's a tough one.

Get Spysweeper (it's free -- Google it). It does a pretty good job of eradicating the nasties.

Then pledge you will ALWAYS stay out of dark Internet neighborhoods! :-)

German witches, eh?

Computer Virus Spews Right-Wing Spam

"A computer virus spewed neo-Nazi-tinged spam in English and German into inboxes over the weekend. The virus, first spotted on Thursday, sends out a blast of e-mail to addresses found on infected PCs."

Sorry about your trouble.

"Hijack This" is a very useful free utility, but very dangerous as well. Use with caution.

Congratulations. You just lost $30. I bought one of those crappy programs last year. They don't work.

Someone already pointed you to Ad-Aware. This program is awesome. Also, go get Hijack This. If you are not computer literate, there are web sites that can help you use Hijack This to tell you what is bad on your system. Hijack This will definitely find your "new" toolbar.

Good luck!

Either you've fallen under the spell of the Dark Side or you've been hijacked!

Medic!

Peeps on this thread have some good ideas on how to de-toolbar-ify you. Good luck, Missy!
