Word For The Day, Day, Date
In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
i·rasci·bili·ty or i·rasci·ble·ness n. i·rasci·bly adv.
1. Prone to outbursts of temper; easily angered. 2.Characterized by or resulting from anger. 3: quickly aroused to anger; "a hotheaded commander" [syn: choleric, hotheaded, hot-tempered, quick-tempered, short, short-tempered] 4: characterized by anger; "a choleric outburst"; "an irascible response" [syn: choleric]
Etymology: Middle English, from Old French, from Late Latin rscibilis, from Latin rsc, to be angry, from ra, anger. See eis- in Indo-European Roots.]
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.
The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)
Practice makes perfect.....post on....
Here is my example with WFTD.
The irascible loon , Howie Dean, presumes to make fun of RUSH for something? Talk about being selfUNaware!

In like Flynn.
monongahela to ya, marteen!
Kick-ass tag line, my fellow Sean Thornton fan!!!!!!!!!!
Old Teddy is so irascible,
A demeanor deemed impassable,
From his quivering chin,
All too well soaked in gin,
Blows a stream of vile gas, et al.
clever ending! A+++
My husband is a really laid back kind of guy, not one prone to be irascible - I have a feeling things are a bit different this morning. Since the school bus came hornblowing and screeching up the road abuot 3 minutes ago - I know must figure his absence is that he took Jax to school himself.
I've risen, I've shone, I've arrived to learn. Now what's this crud about no movie tonight?
Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.
Garde la Foi, mes amis! Nous nous sommes les sauveurs de la République! Maintenant et Toujours!
(Keep the Faith, my friends! We are the saviors of the Republic! Now and Forever!)
LonePalm, le Républicain du verre cassé (The Broken Glass Republican)
I ran short of soundalikes passable, so rather than being irascible, I decided to try the old catchbucket "et al"!
uh oh. hope the rain holds off for you, bc it started to sprinkle on my way in and i think we are to have rain most of the week.
what movie are we talking about?
things are pretty good actually. are you counting down to the conjugal visit this coming weekend? ; )
If you get mad in the classroom, do you have to irascible the blackboard after school?
if you don't get in your seat you will be outside clapping erasers yourself young, i mean OLD man... ; )
You know it! Conjugation or not, I miss 'em! (Why can't those verbs conjugate themselves, anyway?)
The irrascible Mr. Dean
like some hatefilled angry machine,
filled with venom, bile and spleen
danced across our TV screen
to set us straight on what we have seen:
Osama Bin Ladin had no role in 9/11. Amazing!
(written before coffee...so it scans a little rough)
good enough for an A++ amd yes, the deaniac is the poster boy for this word.
how long since you have seen the fam?
Hmmmmmmmm.........I better check the forecast - last I checked it wasn't supposed to start raining until tomorrow.
About a month. We talk on the cell phone every day or two, but it's not like being home. We may have a good bite on the house in Georgia, though. On the first showing, the people were there for an hour. They're trying to see if they have enough $$ to expand the master suite a little (that's the only criticism they had of the house, evidently).
Keep your fingers crossde, if you please. :)

The irascible Bonnie & Clyde (Mr. & Mrs. Barrow) were shot to death by police in Louisiana. The killing was promptly followed by the customary crawfish boil and fish fry.
oh i am sure you miss them terribly and vice versa! will definitely say prayers that the sale materializes.
A+++ cheap homework, but i will cut you slack today, grimmy... ; )
Thanks, and have a great day!!
4 pregnancies by the age of 16 and the "mother" (I use the term lightly)is blaming the school..........that is disgusting and while I'm normally not a big proponent of it, I believe she should be stripped of parental rights for all three of her "daughters" and their offspring.
Thank you; I have plenty of slack that needs cutting.
Rose and shone hours ago.
you are one busy lil beaver aintcha?
i am quite certain that you do...
Or how about this? I remember that show! Spanky and Alfalfa, and all the gang -- The Little Irascibles!
OK, i like that one A++
Yep but I feel great. I've lost 10 pounds. My waist went from 35 to 32. I call my program, workacise. It is much more effective than deskercise.
the dress sounds great. i love black and white.
I understand that "Our Gang" are your contemporaries and all, but 'news of the day'? I'm just saying....
And not a little turgid.
OMG a naked Darth!!! A+++
i am feeling charitable.
