That is awful-why is it such a mess in those places-don't people get fined for polluting like they do here (ruinous fines)?

i had a bad day at work today and xshub feels bad for me... he is actually going to stop and pick up the chinese food for us for dinner. i don't know if he has ever done that (you know he doesn't eat chinese, being aberrant as he is). he said, wait a minute, if i pick it up, i guess that means i have to PAY FOR IT, also... i said unless they let me charge it OVER THE PHONE!

It is the city of DC - they use the Anacostia for an industrial sewer.
Who is going to fine them?

You have a point there-but it is still a shame to have a river that is so polluted that you din't want to use it for recreation or eat any fish from it.

You don't think her bumper is sticky enough already? (Robt checks her bumper. Carefully. Very, very carefully. Checks again.)
Nope. Not sticky. (Yet.) No polka dots either, but a few hints of wigglin' waltz whorls showin' up. Ticklish tango twists also..
Definitely round, smooth, firm, bouncy, and bouyant.

Actually, it is getter better. You can now safely swim in it - As I have proven many times. Just don't take your cell phones. LOL (I fell off the boat)
Eating fish is another matter altogether...
When I was a kid, you couldn't even swim in it. My mother used to talk about swinning in the river in the early fifties, and we would all look at her like she was NUTS.
