And other Republicans?

I asked myself the same question.

"Look, nobody really knows who is on the short list unless they are Bush himself.

I won't freak out unless we start getting articles saying sources inside say Gonzalez is going to be the pick."

Sometimes government officials leak out things, just to see what the public's reaction will be.

In the year 2000, I had a conversation with the chairman of the New York State Right-to-Life Party, and even back then he was worried that President Bush might pick Gonzales.

The purpose of this thread is to ask pro-lifers to contact President Bush and ask him to pick a STRONG pro-life U.S. Supreme Court judicial nominee.

Now, it would not hurt to do that, would it?

"If Bush choses a pro choice judge, he may as well roll the red carpet out for Hillary next election. That action alone will tear the Republican party to shreds. I know he doesn't pay attention to polls, but surely he's not that stupid."

This is what worries me. Many pro-lifers are tired of voting for the lesser of evils, and will vote third party, and we just might get Hillary.

What my husband and I started doing is: everytime the Republican Party asks us for $$, we are telling them - NOT until you start giving us some real conservatives.

I heard a woman call Rush Limbaugh, and she told the Republican Party when she was contacted for $$ - NOT until the Republicans start doing what they were elected to do. Rush did not disagree with her.

Heard another man call a talk show, and he said he gave a few thousand a year, and he said NOT until the Republicans stop spending so much. His issue was taxes.

My husband, and I, will contribute to individual pro-life, conservative candidates, but no more to the National Republican Party.

I guess the only way the Republican Party will be able to get money out of some folks, is to give us REAL conservatives.

Even in Florida, it was Republicans who were responsible for Terri Schiavo's demise. Can't the National Republican Party keep a better eye on the states?

All I'm saying is, what I first posted:

Now is the time for pro-lifers to call the White House comment line (202-456-1111), send faxes (202-456-2461) and send e-mails (president@whitehouse.gov), asking the president to pick a STRONG pro-life judicial nominee. We could also write letters to editors to religious and secular newspapers, asking others to do the same.
Calling pro-life, conservative talk shows would help, as well.
