And, I might add.... women who are wives of the kind of men who think KY is for perverts, are probably not likely to bring it up this issue them. Just a theory.
PBS is on cable too. Are you deliberately trying to be argumentative?
I would expect most parents would handle it the way Bluegrass described it, not freak out because of an ad for something most 9 year olds would have no clue about.
I just don't find the justification for anyone getting their panties in a wad, as it were, over this ad.
I am not so offended, but they are about as enjoyable as a chunk of hard candy stuck in a cavity.
Who said cable is a right? When we lived in West Texas we could only "barely" receive ABC without cable - and the weather channel is practically necessary in tornado country.....
cause I pay for it?
sure, I can be resonable, but censorship because of a KY ad, chaps my hide.... no pun intended :)
Heck, the ad runs at 11:00am on a wednesday morning, shouldn't kids be outside enjoying their summer? or at school, if that is the case? I've seen and heard WORSE talk and enuendo on ABC's "The View" at 9:00am
False. Just because you don't see an ad for Don's Big Vibrating Dongs on TV doesn't mean they don't advertise.
like i said, it isn't something to freak out about, it isn't a prudish reaction, it is ANNOYING to have to deal with it. have you never felt uncomfortable when an overtly sexual commercial comes on and the whole family is sitting there? my kids watch commercials, they don't tune them out. one didn't always have to endure this crap. and when they are small and not paying attention, sure, no problem. but when they are in the inbetween stage, don't quite have the whole picture of what sex is about but are getting little inklings here and there, is the problem stage.
I can also get PBS via standard antennas... can't do that with foxnews.
May I suggest
let's go a step further then...who said having a TV is a right?
we are discussing TV advertising, my point still holds. they can advertise the KY right next to don's dongs and my kids aren't likely to need an explanation.
haha!
I have seen you around here for a long time. Do you honestly not know the answer to that question?
I don't understand why they are still treated differently, no.
Local PBS, yes.
hope your children aren't near the computer when you're writing "Don's Dongs" LOL!
just try and explain that one :)
Local PBS is what I get on cable (and PBSHD), is their a "national" PBS I might fortunately be missing out on?
Because "broadcast" (over the air) television uses "the peoples airways" to broadcast their signal. Cable television is broadcast of PRIVATE networks. Same with Sattelite.
