wifey has an affliction for qvc and shopnbc too. :-P

The upside is it keeps her from bidding against me on eBay...

Spencer walking back to the hauler, but despite the disappointment of missing the Brickyard 400 because of Badyear (BRING BACK HOOSIER!), he's still signing autographs.

Check that "won't make the field" - Helton now saying that Spencer can change the tires because he did not take the green flag, which they are. The 5-minute clock didn't start until Truex (the next car on the grid) took the green flag.

Speaking of Truex, he put down a 181.587 (7th of 24; 1st of 7 field-fillers). Rocket out there now.

No new tires, what's wrong with them?

If it was the old Spencer he would go out on the rims. Now I don't know.

You guys can have QVC and eBay; I'll take the black market :-)

Rocket 3rd of 25 witha 182.657, as we have 3 guys skipped (Backflipper, Mike Wallace and now JJ) and a 4th on a 5-minute clock (Jimmy Spencer, who spun with a flat right-rear before taking the green flag).

They are letting them change the tires and hammer down the roof flaps. The 5-minute clock on that is just about out now as Mike Wallace puts down a 177.483 (23rd of 25, 7th of 8 field-fillers; likely not good enough to make the show).

Alright let's go Jimmy, skip the autographs.

Good for Truex.

Rocket afterburner on?

Nothing like a good flea market :-)

Jimmy Spencer is back in line. Kenny Wallace puts down a 173.829 (25th of 26, 9th of 9 field-fillers; looks like Rusty will be the only Wallace brother running Sunday).

Jimmie Johnson had problems with tech, missed the 5-minute clock. Your points leader will start dead last (unless they rewrite the rules again).

Kenny Wallace is probably beating himself up right about now. I hate it for his first run for Auto Zone!

Just a slow car provided by Mikey.

Kevin Lepage with a 179.612 (20th of 27, make that 28 as they won't let Jimmie Johnson qualify, 5th of 10 field-fillers).

Backflipper uncharacteristically not running good at an unfamiliar track - 178.017 puts him 23rd of 29 on the speed charts.

The AutoZone sponsorship is for the Busch team; he was carrying the Aaron's colors here.

Jimmy Spencer tried again, but decided to pull it into the pits before taking a time. He'll go home despite the efforts of his crew, and Martin Truex becomes the second driver locked in (Terry Labonte was locked in the moment he entered via the champ's provisional).

Mark Martin continues the anschluss of old-timers; 182.275 puts him 6th of 31.
