That would be. But a and c) I don't give a rotten radish for Stallman or Torvalds' father. Non sentient technology doesn't inherit the traits of its creator. b and d) I can't spend my life worrying about who else uses the same stuff I do. e) Communists have claimed for the invention of the airplane. I don't think the propagandist at the site has the slightest idea of the Linux development process, but it's sucessful, so they absolutely love to say it's theirs. and f) Come on. Spelling? Sheesh.

This is too long for a signature.

Unfortunately, these links completely support your point.  Great job, as usual.

Luckily I don't pay much attention to DU since they also call people like me a nazi and scream for assasinations of GWB and the Pope.

Good suggestion, have n3wbie draft one up similar to above and we'll check it for accuracy. At a minimum needs to be LINKED words showing the documented connections between open source and communist governments, the DNC, laws requiring its use, and current lawsuits and questions regarding legality. Then he can put that at the top of every OSS ping as an acknowledgement of controversial aspects.

You missed the point: communism.org runs on Windows 2000. EOD.

Yeah, but at least they paid for it, thus contibuting to the US GNP.  Now, if they got it for free or stole it, your point would be stronger.

Great job, as usual.

Thanks, now back to something that actually requires some thinking.

Exactly.  It would save a lot of time ...

Linux Zeolots can say the usual:
BillGate = Satan
Micro$oft
Cloneware
M$ sucks

MS Drones can say:
Linux supports commies
The penguin looks gay
Linux is the official software of the DNC
Linux users act like it's a religion
Linux has NO flaws or security issues ... ever

etc....

Actually, the point is it does not matter who uses software. Do you really think MS is a communist organization because communism.org runs on Windows 2000? Of course you don't - you've have to be an idiot. Do you think Free Republic is a communist organization because it runs on linux? Nope. You're too smart for that.

Does it matter that Linus Torvold's father is a Moscow-trained Stalinist? It does not. Does Stallman's Bolshevism mean linux is evil? Laughable.

If you worry that whoever wrote the software might somehow taint the software with their political leanings:

Actually, what annoys me is those who run around bragging that several nations are using Linux exclusively as proof that is is the better OS.

Ummm ... no.  Maybe because it is free!

To me bragging that Linux is making BIG gains on MS's marketshare rings hollow when it is given away.  If they have to buy it then you can brag.

Softwarecreator - no, you know I'm only interested in facts, not BS claims or excuses like we see from these guys. The stipulations from n3wbie need to be linkable verifiable facts, similar to the ones I provided above, and placed at the top of every one of these OSS propoganda threads he creates. He already gave us a draft above, although it of course needs work.

Speaking of FACTS, did you hear that the Linux lab where Torvalds works is refusing to have objective "bipartisan" tests with Windows? Is that not hilarious or what.

That's true ... you are very specific.  =)

hmmmm .... Guess we could read pretty much only one conclusion from this.

Wow!!!  This is one interesting article, albeit a bit biased.  I can only read a few bits here and there while my "kiddie scripts" are being tested.  I'll be able to read it again when I get home.

As usual, thanks for all your research and for taking the time to post it.

Yup. No one trusts MS to be objective, or twist unfavorable results to what they want.

That was what you meant, right?

And yet youll be the first to say that os cost is a small part of any serious enterprise server. So let me ask you.. if that is the case why would hte fact its 'free' (Ill have to tel redhat that) mean anything..

I see that point. Linux is good in some situations, and not others.

I hate the idea that some morons have that my willingness to spend money on MS software is the measure of my patriotism. I work to make my employer money, not MS, Apple, Novell or anyone else.

And the "Linus's dad is a commie and so is Stallman, so the os is bad" is a joke.

With one difference, the Linux advocates would be blasting it in headlines from here to the DU.  More than likely someone with put up a picture of Bill Gate's head with the body of a chicken.

Ah, but when it's Linux, it barely gets a whisper, if even that.

I agree, but I am talking about those who brag Linux is getting a BIG chunk of the pie.  You are merging two different concepts into one.  BTW, that BIG chunk is almost nothing and is even less to crow about when it's free.

Yeah, makes about as much sense as people saying Linux is better because a few more people are using it ... for free!!

I know a lot of people eat out of dumpsters for free, while I choose to buy my own food.  Does this mean they are eating better?

Please show me one posting where I ever mentioned Linus's Dad, either in name or by reference.  You also are eligible for bonus points if I ever said he's a commie.
