Notice where New Orleans lies in the map? Anyone remember how much time pass between the Evac notice and landfall? Give ya a hint. Evac was ordered at 10am sunday. Katrina made landfall at 6:10am monday (both local times). First post, hope it works
Your critical point being?
New Orleans lies in all three phases for evacuation. The notice that was supposed to be given was 50 hours for phase 1, 40 hours for phase 2 and 30 hours for phase 3. They got about 20 hours.
There was an "evacuation" ordered prior to the "mandory" evacuation (and as always, remember the "mandatory" is wholly fictional..there's no such thing as a mass evacuation at gunpoint.)
no, a mandatory evacuation is not fiction.
It means that you are on your own if you get into trouble. That you can't count on anybody to come to your rescue.
WOW !! Very interesting link !! Care to wager how many of the folks in front of the msm's cameras NOW screaming "hep us!!" had or have ever read it, seen it, heard of it, or if they did, followed ANY of the information provided in it ???
BTTT !!
Do you know the time the pre mandatory evacuation order was given?
I don't know how much you know about New Orleans, but there are a lot of bone-headed people who thought they could ride Katrina out. They rode Betsy; they rode Camille; they didn't flood in 1995; etc., etc. Put that on top of the doomsday predictions we had during Georges and Ivan (which never came to light), plus the trouble of packing up almost every time a storm enters the Gulf, and they just didn't feel like the benefit of leaving outweighed the risk of staying.
What does the plan say? The size of the .pdf is choking my dial-up!
