I would not have posted another thing on this thread if you hadn't pinged me to it. I haven't even thought about the Cowboys since this morning.

If it's just a game, why start a thread about it? Attempting to gloat over what was a painful loss for some of us is just as petty as when some of us answer back about it.

Look, you're right, it's really no big deal. It's just a game. That's why I would never start a thread rubbing your face in a Browns' loss.

Let's forget it.

Aren't athletic events talked about all the time? You can get people talking about Emmett Smith's long touchdown run against the New York Giants on Monday Night Football when he had a separated shoulder to this day!

You can post anything you'd like about the Browns. Just don't expect me to take it personally like you have done here.

IT'S JUST A GAME!

Although I hate the Browns for what they did to my Packers, I think rdb3's right.

There's no need to take it personally. Sure, it smarts a little, but there's always next Sunday.

For the same reason you decided you had to start a thread about the Cowboys' loss.

Oh come on - this was a historic loss for the Cowboys. Dallas ended a 15 game winning streak on Monday night - a night Dallas was acting as if it were their homecoming game - the night they added the Triplets to the Ring of Honor.

A fiction writer could not have done it better. The Cowboys were arrogant as ever assuming they were going to win - it looked like the Cowboys were going to shut out the lowly Redskins - the party was everything Dallas wanted....until the last 4 minutes. Then Washington's old quarterback runs for a 25 yard gain followed quickly by two super pass plays leaving the Dallas defense searching the field for their jockstraps that they had recently been played out of. Like Super-bowl XXII, where the Redskins scored 35 points in a quarter - it was a super come-back - this time the Redskins scored two touchdowns in the last three minutes. Jerry Jones was on the field with what looked like tears in his eyes and Dan Snyder was up in his skybox doing a victory dance. After the game Joe Gibbs said that game was one of his biggest victories – and this coming from a coach who has won three Super-bowls and is already in the hall of fame – that means a lot. The Redskins did what great teams do – they never gave up – a true inspiration.

All streaks must come to an end and the Cowboys ended their streak in dramatic fashion in front of their largest hometown crowd since 1995. We Redskin fans thank Dallas for the show. This streak ended with an exclamation point.

Dallas is already out of shape the second game of the season. They need to get back to working out in the heat again in Wichita Falls. This never happened when Jimmy Johnson was here.

The Redskins had not scored a single point in seven quarters, prior to the 14 in the last 3 minutes.

That is not a "great" team.

What!! I went to bed and this happened!! Go Skins!!

Last night was Redskin fan payback time. Payback for the last (too numerous to count) seasons in which I cheered the Redskins on in every game. Last night I too started thinking that being a life-long Redskin fan (since the late 1960's when I was a wee lad) was some kind of cruel punishment the Gods of Football bestowed on me - the years of winning seasons seemed like ancient memories (right up there with Alexander the Great) and I felt I was being mercilessly punished by being forced to root for a team that could not get their act together again and again. Last night I was thinking - why do I put myself through this torture - do I need this - Dallas kicking Redskin butt big time on Monday night - do I really need this? And then it dawned on me - these experiences make the Super-bowl victories sweet and the true fan can savor the sweetness for a long time (unlike the fair-weather "I root for whatever team is winning" fans). So I put down the remote and decided this is just payment for future pigskin glories....and like a bolt of lightening on high - the Gods of Football did hear my plea - yea though I walk thought the valley of the losing season I FEARED NO EVIL - for this time the Gods did grin upon the loyal fan of the Skins of Red…and lo, the Redskins did rise up and did smite the wicked Cowboys...and it was good.

And even thought the Redskins are undefeated, there is a long season ahead. This may be a harbinger of greatness to come this year or maybe in years to come. Last night was payback for the life-long fans...and it was good.

Clearly you just don't "get it" - you must be a Dallas fan.

First off - get your facts straight. The Redskins had not scored a TOUCHDOWN in seven quarters. The Redskins scored 9 points (three field goals) in their opening game victory. Currently they are undefeated...and they will remain undefeated through the third week of the season (Because they have a bye week, but I digress)

I said great teams don't give up - even when they have not scored a touchdown in seven quarters. THAT IS THE POINT! They did not give up even though people like you most likely would have. They stayed focused - adjusted - and were able to humiliate the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night in Dallas on the night when the Triplets were put into the Ring of Honor (Dallas' years of glory now seem as far off as the Redskins years of glory). Remember, the Redskins did a quarterback change during that seven quarter TD draught.

Any schmuck team can stay focused when things are going good. Greatness often comes through adversity. Last night the Redskins showed signs of greatness.

It wasn't my Drew Bledsoe's fault.

Yeah. How many total yards did they get?

Great teams play like great teams. The Redskins may yet do that, but they sure sucked for 57 minutes last night.

Well, when the game was over they sucked less than the Cowboys in pretty much all categories. They held the Cowboys to less than 100 yards rushing - AT DALLAS. Except for a nicely executed trick play - the Dallas offense did nothing to write home to mother about - good defense or bad offense, you make the call.

Washington didn't win, Dallas lost. It's the same result though.

YUP..
It was like deja vu of their last game except with a different result.

I couldn't be happier if they had done it with actual skill and execution. The deer in the headlights look on the Tuna's face was priceless!

It's not the end of the world. In 1995 Dallas was swept by the Deadskins (My dad calls them this, he's Washington fan we have a healthy rivalry)and Dallas won Super Bowl XXX.

In 1992, Dallas lost to Washington on the MNF season opener, and Dallas won Super Bowl XXVII.

So, 13 Qbs and 6 coaches since 1995, Washington beats Dallas in Dallas.

Amazing that a team could be so dominated by another team. It has been dismal ever since Gibbs resigned with one inept coach after another (actually Schottenheimer was a keeper but the little general with the Napoleonic complex gave him the axe).

As a Cowboy fan, I respected George Allen Sr. It's a shame that men like Tom Landrey and George Allen Sr. are no longer part of the NFL culture.

>>Tom Landrey and George Allen Sr.<<

These two guys epitomized the best in the game.

I can't tell you how many times they took my guys down but it was always great getting even...once in a while.

"Has been" is the key phrase. Last night at Dallas the domination ended and we are entering a new era - what it will bring is yet to be known. All we know now is the Dallas streak is over...and it ended in a glorious fashion - a true humiliation. A great fiction writer could not have better scripted last nights end of the domination. Check the stats - what looked to be a rout by the Cowboys turned into the Redskins beating them in every category including the most important one - points. The truth was the Redskins were never that far out of the game last night - Washington understood that - Dallas did not. Washington was not doing as badly as Dallas thought and Dallas was not performing as good as Dallas thought.

Here's my two guys...

One had all the guts and leadership in the world but couldn't throw a spiral..
the other was the best pure passer in the business but couldn't stay away from the 'night circuit'.

Both of 'em my kinda people :)
