That's excellent, GC6! I wish I could have some, but they won't allow me to raise chickens in the suburbs, but how I would love to. My Grandpa raised his own in western Kansas and had fresh eggs every day.

I will be glad when I can unpack my war books collection, I got a ton of them.

I am CONVIENCED that all polls are taken in the DNC building. It is PRESS setting the mood and the approval rate of OUR President W. Ain't helped none by a couple of so called republicans in the Senate

When I was 6-7yo, my "job" was to gather the eggs. I vividly remember being pecked by an old setting hen that was determined to be a mother hen.

At my grandpa's I gathered his eggs from troughs in his barn. He fooled his hens into laying their eggs there by having old white door knobs in the nests. lol

LOL! My Grandpa never tried the doorknob trick, as best as I can remember, although he was one that might have done it and I never knew it. They lived several hours from us and I only got to spend a few weeks every summer with Grandma and Grandpa.

I got me some plastic Easter eggs, put one in each laying box, they will move the around with their beaks to set on it lie OK, maybe a move This way will work. It DOES fool them and they will lay.
