PHILADELPHIA Nov 8, 2005 Terrell Owens has apologized to Philadelphia Eagles coach Andy Reid, quarterback Donovan McNabb, the team's owner, the team's president and fans.
He read the statement outside his house in Moorestown, N.J., a day after the team said he would not return this season.
"I fight for what I think is right. In doing so, I alientated a lot of my fans and my teammates," he said.
His agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said Owens was making a public apology in hopes of returning to the Eagles this year.
Owens' brief but tumultuous time in Philadelphia ended Monday when the All-Pro wide receiver was told not to return to the team this season.
"This decision is a result of a large number of situations that accumulated over a long period of time, during which Terrell had been warned repeatedly about the consequences of his actions," Reid said.
Owens was suspended for Sunday night's 17-10 loss at Washington, and will remain suspended for three more games without pay. After that, the Eagles plan to deactivate him for the rest of the season.
Though he's perhaps the best wideout in the NFL, Owens caused far too many distractions with his selfish behavior.
"We gave Terrell every opportunity to avoid this outcome," Reid said....

My guess is a certain sports agent sat down with his client and showed him just how much his four game supension was going to set back the bling account and also how his market value in the NFL just took a massive hit now that everyone knows he's a royal pain and TO took a long hard look at the abyss and said I better make nice.
Hey, maybe TO and Barry Bonds can get together and compare notes on how they made friends and influenced everyone to their guts.
