GRANDMA GOT RUN OVER BY A REINDEER is not only the WORST CHRISTMAS SONG****************
It's awful. Really, really awful.

Gotta love the Bing Crosby / David Bowie duet version of that one.

great song.
Teddy the Red-Nosed Senator is another Bob Rivers classic.

4. Do They Know It's Christmas - Band Aid -- Another Bob Geldof save the starving biafrins effort. Truly unlistenable. With singing contributions from Boy George, Stink (Sting to some), and Wham, it is doomed to make many "worst" lists until it is completely forgotten about. My kids find this song to be hilarious, pointing out that many in Africa are not Christians, and therefore would not celebrate Christmas, and that it never snows in Africa, so what's the big deal. LOL!

"Do They Know It's Christmas - Band Aid "
Worst part of that song - "there won't be snow in Africa this Christmas" no s***. It's Africa. It's summertime in December.

I agree. Christmas just isn't Christmas without rousing renditions of these two. Another favorite is Tom Lehrer's "A Christmas Carol"

Worst- "Grandma got run over..."
Best- "All I Want for Christmas Is You." By Vince Vance and the Valiants.

I would nominate "Dominic the Donkey" by Lou Monte, but it actually started to grow on me after awhile.

"You're a Mean One Mr. Grinch" (Thur Ravenscroft)

I have to echo those who said that crappy Paul McCartney "Simply Having a Wonderful Christmastime" is on their lists, along with "So This is Christmas" by John Lennon. Horrible, horrible songs that all stores seem to play on endless loops.
But another one that gets me is, "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year". It always seems to come on when I am standing in the longest line man has ever seen with the most disgruntled people on God's green earth working the register.

Love that song.

I have heard this 100 times and still laugh - I think it's the guy in the background.
