you need to uninstall adblock and install adblock plus. It will elimate that problem.

An enhanced version of Adblock 0.5.2.039, AdBlock Plus 0.5.10 made by mcm_ham can be found here: Date: 2005-10-23

Compatibility: (firefox09-small.png 0.7 - 1.6) (all-small.png 1.4 - 1.8)

- Whitelisting, prefix your filters with "@@" to allow an item normally blocked by another filter through. Credit to OneStop.

- Synchronization (import) with filter file on website or hard drive using URL. Can be synchronized manually or automatically.

- Ability to block DIV sections allowing a much greater range of images to be blocked. Credit to Rueschi.

- Can hide ads on a per site basis instead of globally. Now an option under Adblock's menu. Changes: * New context menu options like cut, copy, paste and select all and ability to select multiple filters. * Can now sync with multiple filtersets by seperating the paths with a '|' character. * Syntax highlighting for white filters. * Seperated Site Blocking and Site Whitelisting from filter list to its own UI. * Added support for background images. * Allow editing of the filter that's displayed as blocking an image under the Ad-blockable items dialog. * Added Brazilian & Polish locale (thanks to Sergio Abreu, Alessandro Nakamuta & Teo) * Various bug fixes.

While your at it get

Adblock Filterset.G Updater 0.2.6

Author: Reid Rankin, Michael McDonald Version: 0.2.6 Size: 39KB Date: 2005-10-26 Compatibility: (firefox09-small.png 0.7 - 1.6) (all-small.png 1.4 - 1.8) Requires: Adblock Homepage

This extension allows you to automatically keep up to date with G's latest filterset. Given that this is the first release you should be prepared for bugs and know how to handle them. If you want a stable version then wait for the first non-beta release after it has been thoroughly tested.

Features: * Automatically checks for later versions of Filterset.G filters every 4-7 days and downloads them if they're newer. * Can optionally synchronize with Filterset.G-Whitelist-Beta, requires Adblock Plus 0.5.9 or higher. * Ability to define your own filters that persist between updates. * User filter list management available from context menu.

I was using it yesterday. I think it will replace Safari as my prime browser. Has some pretty cool extensions.

All of my extensions have been updated for 1.5

Actually, I had to manually update all my extensions and themes to make Firefox 1.5 work again. Easy if you have broadband like me, but time-wasting if you have a dial-up connection.

what are these pregrammers living on ? who buys them food?

Some of it is people doing things in their spare time. Aside from that, they have corporate sponsors donating programming time, plus Mozilla.org is a 501(c) non-profit that takes donations (tax deductible!).

I believe they make money off of the little Google search box in the upper right hand corner of the browser.

1.5 has a pretty bad bug that pops up with OS X 10.2.8.

When you hit one of the drop down triangles like the one by the back arrow Firefox hangs and you have to force quit.

Quite a few people with 10.2.8 are having the same problem.

Using 10.4. Seems a tad slow but I like the search function better than Safari (and I did add a pile of extensions -- it's 9:09 a.m. in Tokyo.)

Someone created an extension that just fixed the problem for me.
