AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 1797) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | December 22, 2005 | All of Us

Posted on 12/22/2005 4:27:55 PM PST by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good evening!!

Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

TWU Local 100 agreed to go back to work in New York, ending the illegal transit strike there. Two million dollars worth of fines, pending appeal to a New York State Appellate Court, has been levied against the union local, and Gov. Pataki has said they will not be waived. No change in the negotiating position of either the union local or the City of New York's Metropolitan Transportation Authority has occurred, and there exists the possibility of another walkout.

Saddam at his trial indicated the United States is "the number one liar in the world." The trial has been adjourned until January 24, 2006. In other words, so far, there have been four or five court days and weeks upon weeks of nothing.

And President Bush stated "it's been a good year for the American people."

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Caue, the Chairman.

I know you'll treasure the snail mail letter ... if Ev is anything like my son those will be rare indeed ... perhaps even collector's items.

Thanks for keeping us updated on 'our' soldier. (((((Mozie)))))

After tomorrow, nine days off from the hellhole and it's paid! [3 holiday/2 vacation days] I avoid unpaid leave like you wouldn't believe!

I can SO relate to the army way of life. I just never wanted to. ;>)

BTW, the cards are still here, next to the envelope and the stamps. It's grown by one card since I last didn't send it. Tomorrow. First thing on the list.

Mozie, what a wonderful emotional lift!

That "boy" is a gem and it is a pleasure to see the interesting and informative parts of his correspondence. Thank you.

Prayers continue.

Oh, and John and Heather dropped off the kitten for me the other day.... John looked around and said: "Oh H3!! NO!. This is your office? With the connecting kitchen?"

I replied with a demure..: "We have no cable in this building. It's below standards, I know. But I'm Air Force! I'll live with it."

I can't repeat his next comment, except to say something about a half mile walk to get to a common room that didn't have nearly the... stuff I had close at hand. Severely paraphrased (and redacted. I understand why he's been busted so many times, but he had a point). I love my SIL, but I'm not above a little interservice jabbing at sore spots.

I'm not Army for a reason.... 8>)

I would leave the Eagle Brand out of the Banana Pudding recipe, too.

It was just sickly sweet with the Eagle Brand milk in it. I think Paula Deen's Bread Pudding is the same. It is made from Krispy Kreme donuts and a 14 ounce can of sweetened condensed milk. Oh, and then she tops it with the frosting which consists of 1 stick of butter and 1 pound of confectioner's sugar with rum to taste. My teeth just ache reading this recipe.

I'm trying to figure out my contribution to Christmas dinner, well a buffet. Finger foods. I thought maybe some Brie en croute and a veggie tray, with the veggies being very fancy. And I am going to make a cheeseball, but instead of one big cheeseball, I am making a snowman out of it. The kids will get a kick out of that.

OK, I am going to devote myself to watching the BYU football game. Maybe. Unless they start losing badly. I might be back.

Yes. There are times when TOO MUCH of a good thing is bad. This, obviously, is a good example.

Kind of in her defense, she does pour a can of fruit cocktail over the donuts and condensed milk. I'm not a real fan of bread pudding, so I pass on the Paula Deen recipe.

I do hope my sister's family is having fun at the Las Vegas Bowl. Her sons and husband are at the game. My nine year old nephew lives and dies by football, especially BYU football. He will not be a happy camper if BYU loses (although he told me last night that they were going to lose by at least 9.)

BYU 7 Cal 14. Still. almost halftime.

BYU needs a defense. :( It was 14-14 with 30 seconds to go. The kickoff was returned 40 yards by Cal, pass interference on BYU, and Cal then scored. BYU 14 Cal 21. Halftime. I foresee lots of drinking of hot chocolate at the game by rabid BYU fans. :)
