Monkeys go “ape” seeing themselves in the mirror, too.

An accurate description of the Hollywood "Elite".

“Brokeback Mountain” has netted a paltry $4.9 million in box office sales, nearly identical to “Memoirs of a Geisha”. Both movies have been out for about two weeks. King Kong has earned twenty times more in only eight days of apish reincarnation.

That is a disingenuous comparison. KK is in full release. BBM has only been in selected-city release; full release won't be until the first week of January. If the author is going to make comparison, at least be accurate about them.

I wish everyone would STOP saying these two perverts are "Cowboys", they ain't. Yhey're two sheep herders, also know as "Shepherds".

Plus, last I looked Sheep aren't Cows.

I haven't gone to the movies for weeks because there isn't anything I'm interested in, except for the movie about Johnny Cash. I'll probably see that when I get a chance.

In two weeks? That's really sad considering the amount of hype.

I saw the "Producers" this past weekend, (which has to be one of the most anti-pc movies I have ever seen!) and all the previews for the 06 movies---sucked!!!!

As for Gayback Mountain---If I wanted to see two guys getting it on (and I don't-ever) I'd just rent a gay video from the porn mart.

Sheep herders are not cowboys. Hollywood couldn't even get that right.

It is not only the gay movie of Brokeback Mountain that stinks, but "Munich", "Good Night & Good Luck", Syriana, and host of other gay films are going nowhere fast. Do you realize the Gloden Globes only has one major revenue film in its nominations for awards, that being "King Kong", Peter Jackson for best director. I am certain that the braindead Academy Award membership will mimic the GGs, thus reducing their viewing audience substantially. For goodness sakes the Academy Awards group cannot get a major name to emcee this event that honors the fudge packers, distorts the history of the Munich massacre, and bad mouths America from A to Z. "Hollywood" is going south fast!!!

Folks, this movie is gonna win an Oscar.

Not because of the spectacular cinematography.

Not because of the masterful script.

Not because of the world-class acting.

But because it is seen as OK'ing the gay lifestyle. The people who vote on the Oscars will see to it that this movie walks away with at least one Oscar.

There are those who actually predict that the movie theater will be a thing of the past. Additionally, there are those, in the high tech world by the way, who have a huge interest in pushing video games to the point of virtual role play with the story line. Eventually being a part of "the movie" or storyline instead of just being a viewer.

So, technology may make movies and their theaters obsolete. Actors will again be jobless. Not a bad idea.

Nearly one-fourth of viewers gave Brokeback Mountain an “F”, while 69.4% gave it an A, leaving no middle-ground.

The 69.4% A's is not surprising since most of the audience to this movie is probably homosexual. Like the monkeys in the mirror, they love to see themselves in the movies doing "their thing"—sort of a porno excitement factor, I guess.

Speaking of gays, I heard that Elton John's new bride cannot get life insurance.
It seems that he is deemed at high risk of contracting botulism.
Botulism can be caused by old meat in a can.

Sorry, I can't resist...
My bad.

One of the "cowpokes" is apparently only too happy to already be promoting his NEXT movie. Incredibly, the very week that the "cowpoke" movie came out, televisions across the nation were showing trailers for 'Casanova', starring Heath Ledger.

Had to break the homos' hearts.

>Shock entertainment will be an increasingly marginal market

This writer gets things
exactly opposite from
what they really are.

"Shock" entertainment
pays the bills for Hollywood,
because shock movies

have a small but fierce
audience that's always there.
What we're seeing now

is Hollywood try
to apply the dynamics
of shock cinema

to mainstream movies,
building major releases
around shocking themes

guaranteed to push
someone's hot buttons and cause
everyone to talk.

And, at the same time,
there's still an endless supply
of movies like these:

Hollywood wants to indulge their fantasies of being "cultural leader" rather than mere entertainers. If that delusion works for them, fine. But they shouldn't expect me to pay for it. Or support it. Or view their crap...
