Dixie Chicks Write a Song About Lubbock (Bush Bashing, Still Sore at Country Radio)
KLBK 13 ^ | Jan 31, 2006

Posted on 01/31/2006 7:59:19 AM PST by gopwinsin04

The Dixie Chicks are raising a rukus again. This time they are using Lubbock's name.

The Chicks new album contains a song called 'Lubbock or Lave It.' It criticizes local radio stations who boycotted their music after the trio made anti-Bush remarks at a concert three years ago.

Another song called 'Not Ready to Make Nice' is about the backlash they recieved from the Bush comments.

The album is due out in April.

I think they still don't realize how much they've hurt themselves. Perhaps when this album doesn't sell they'll get the message.

They could get big again if they fire the fat one.

Just come out and say, "we were tired of her flapping her fat stupid mouth."

All would be forgiven.

I think the problem is that they're not getting their message out. They must shriek louder. But they're right about one thing, Lubbock sucks.

What a bunch of idiots. They attack Bush and our troops...yet try to make money in the country music industry. Country music is God and country all the way.

Uh, sorry you bag of fools....you should try the rap industry. But you're white trash, so I doubt they will even listen.

Can you imagine being on top of the world and throwing it all away for a misguided fit of I'm right and your wrong.

They aren't country anymore. They think they've left country but country left them. What are they now? I read yesterday that they are sounding like the Eagles. Oh. Yeah. Sure.

The Ditzie Chicks miscalculated by playing to the east coast liberal media types that are not the ones buying their records.

They will be lucky to have a record deal in 5 years!

Dixie Chicks can go suck an egg. They are trying to tell America they are dumping country music, me thinks it's the other way around. After their bottom feeding, scum sucking remarks about President Bush, I believe the American people left them. Seems their record sells kind of took a sharp dive.
Wonder how their feeling this morning about the senate vote on Judge Alito?

HERE'S THEIR NEW SONG--

We're just a trio of used up sluts
Make no mistake--no if's and's or but's
We wannna sell our records and bash America, too
If the stations won't play'em we go "Boo Hoo Hoo"

Lubbock stinks--we like 'Frisco much better
We don't like pick-ups cause we're jet setters
But we need the hicks to send us cash
There's nuthin fair about this Back-lash

(Chorus)
We hate Bush -- cause he's no good
We hate Bush -- We love Hollywood
We hate Bush -- He's not out man
We hate Bush -- Now we got no fans

We went to Texas and had us a tour
Booed off the stage, flushed down the sewer
We just hate all of these Rednecks
But we wanna keep gettin' those checks

(Repeat chorus)

Now Babs and Sean just think we're swell
But back at home our records don't sell
Please make this boycott stop
Or we're gonna have to switch to Hip Hop

(Repeat Chorus)

The Dixie Chicks have a new fan base now. It consists of left wing moonbats who never bought a Dixie Chicks product until Natalie Maines opened her mouth overseas.

However, none of her "new" fans eknow the truth about her kissing W's butt on her way up the ladder. How they called him a "Personal Friend" so that HIS fans would become their fans. How they would sit in HIS box seats at rangers games and eat hotdogs and chat it up and watch Americas favorite past time with him, like old friends do. Shes a FRAUD!

I'm sure you have plenty of time to recall your days in Lubbock on your 1-1/2 hour commute if you've moved to one of Texas' "bigger" cities. Me, I'll be on my 2nd cocktail in an hour.

yeah, me too. When I lived in McGregor, a bunch of us would drive to Dallas to visit with friends and hit the West End where the original Dixie Chicks would play. The Chicks had a 'cult' following back then (before Natalie). I have one of their first CD's "Little 'Ol Cowgirl" that I absolutely love. They've REALLY changed since Ms. Maines joined the group.

Any odds on them winning a Grammy tonight? They are nominated for a song they did for Katrina relief, but their manager chose not to pursue getting it on the radio. So it's a song hardly anyone has heard.

Apparently you haven't ever really heard/read/paid attention to the Mac Davis song "Texas in My Rearview Mirror."

He starts it off saying that he THOUGHT happiness was Lubbock, Tx in his rearview mirror, but you shouldn't stop there. The last stanza he sings:

"I guess happiness was Lubbock, Texas in my rear view mirror.
But now happiness is Lubbock, Texas growing nearer and dearer,
and the vision is gettin' clearer in my dreams,
And I think finally I know what it means,
And when I die you can bury me in Lubbock, Texas in my jeans."
