Haven't seen anything regarding this. Did the store person happen to say this and then use an old imprint credit card machine to process the transaction? If he did, he has her card number imprinted on the card, where he can copy it down for later use.
I had a Target check out clerk act like she put my credit card receipt in my bag one Christmas years ago, and when I went home and later looked in the bag and didn't see the ticket, I blew it off thinking I misplaced it. Next month I had a $200 TV charged to my account. You gotta watch just about everyone now.

I was amazed at how many clerks and fast food workers hadn't heard about Hurricane Katrina at the time (although the ones in NO were presumably quite knowledgeable).
