I've seen Van Halen in concert twice: "Diver Down" and "1984". I never heard them complete a song in either show; it was three guys trying to play music and Dave acting like an idiot.
Van Hagar, on the other hand, put on a great concert. It didn't even hurt that much when Sammy sang some of Dave's tunes. Plus, Sammy is a helluva guitarist and it was cool to listen to him jam with Eddie. And despite an hour delay on account of weather, they played the full set anyway. Dave would've never done that.
I just notice those types of things, but I digress.
Dave was a hot rockin' guy back in the day.
Whatever gave you that idea? ;)
Good info. Thanks :)
Sure thing- but for the love of all that is sacred, please don't let that little bit of trivia influence who's music you listen to! Not that I would expect that of you, Motley.
Fortheluvva...
Even if Roth looks like a scarecrow, your right.
NO magic without Roth.
Some people have a death-wish.
Yeah, it was!

It doesn't drive what I listen to, but it's nice to know that at least someone in the music business has their head on straight politically.
Actually, though, Roth isn't exactly a liberal himself. Perhaps more of a neolibertarian, not necessarily conservative, but he's not liberal from what I've heard from him.
Agreed. Though he has stated he has no love for either conservative or liberal politicians- he has quoted the Who "meet the new boss, same as the old boss"-, I've heard him refer to kerry as Lurch and offer up a devil's advocate point of view about the need for the U.S. to be in Iraq.
Do you remember when Gary Cherone sang a short time with Van Halen. That was horrible.
My first concert was a Van Halen concert at the Hampton Colesium. Let's put it this way, no 14 year old girl should be exposed to David Lee's Chaps. I had the best time. But I would never let my daughter go see a show with David Lee (back in his prime)....
Yeah, I remember that. It was awful!
I actually saw Van Cherone in concert in Houston. The show was really bad.
OMG! That brings back memories. I had it bad for Dave. I used to by Cream magazine and cut out pics of Dave. My parents were horrified.
