Can tinfoil hats actually prevent the government from reading your thoughts?

Inspired by fringe beliefs that invasive radio signals can probe a citizens' thoughts and that wearing foil on your head may fend them off, an experiment by four Ph.D candidates found that certain frequencies-owned by the Feds naturally-are actually enhanced by such "protection."
Overall, the foil effectively weakend radio waves by up to 10 decibels over most of the frequency spectrum (there were no significant differences among helmet shapes). But at 1.2 and 2.6 GHz-which fall within the band reserved for government satellites, GPS systems and mobile-phone corporations-passage through the foil amplified these waves by 20-30 decibels.

I think you would get the best possible protection if you wore a copper mesh bodysuit.

Nah, the best possible protection would be the tinfoil room...

That does it...
From now on, I'm wearing my tinfoil inside out. That way the amplification effect will be reversed.

Everyone knows the radio waves are to CONTROL your thoughts (and actions), not read them. Sheesh.

A faraday cage works better if you can build in around a large plastic bag. Get inside the bag and you will be fine!:)

Another way to protect against a psychic attacker:
Saranwrap. I know, most people take a second look at this, but I mean it. Whenever I go on the road and have to give seminars or talks, I always pack my trusty Saranwrap! It is three sheets or layers, one on top of the other. I tuck it beneath my bra so that it hangs over and covers my solar plexus (the area just below where your breastbone or sternum ends to your tummy button).
If I get into a seminar where I feel instant draining, and I don't have time to do anything about it because my attention is too scattered and pulled and I can't focus like I need to, then I excuse myself and go slap on my Saranwrap and there's a happy ending. The only bad thing about this is: you'll sweat like a pig beneath it. Bummer.

...passage through the foil amplified these waves by 20-30 decibels. Somehow I doubt the physics of this work out. A 2^6 to 2^10 power gain by passing through an unpowered layer?
