Lance Armstrong and Sheryl Crow Break Up Over George W. Bush?
Left Coast report ^

Posted on 02/19/2006 7:06:00 AM PST by AgThorn

As is often the case when celebrity couples part company, there has been an enormous amount of press coverage concerning the Lance Armstrong/Sheryl Crow split.

But the Star is reporting a possible political cause for the engagement halt. There's speculation that the root of the rift may have to do with President Bush.

No, Crow doesn't have a crush on the prez. Quite the contrary. The singer has been public about her opposition to Bush's policies.

Many of us have a less than fond remembrance of her highly visible, much discussed "War Is Not the Answer" T-shirt.

Well, it turns out that Armstrong is actually a Bush backer. The famed cyclist went biking with the commander in chief last summer.

According to a friend of Crow, Armstrong was a Bush backer to the max.

"Sheryl said Lance didn't just support Bush, - he'd go off and fight if the president asked him to," the friend said.

The Left Coast Report says, Poor Sheryl, how will she ever find someone who shares her hatred of Bush in a place like Hollywood?

Well, he is the Commander & Chief and if he asked anyone to fight I think its your duty.

Been there and done that. Twice. I used to think couples who argued over politics were allowing differences in opinion between idiots in Washington to dictate the terms of a relationship between two people. But now I realize it's all about "values". Libs and Conservatives have two diametrically opposed sets of values. When all is said and done, when you get past the romance and good times and physical attraction you still can't have a real relationship between two people who are so different from each other at such a basic level.

You mean the rule that if you talk about a 'babe', regardless of her politics, you have to post her picture? (Or does that only apply to Ann Coulter, our poster girl?) Oh well, just in case ...

Oh, you are talking about another rule?

Finally! now we can get him at the singles thread to find a good woman. As an avid cyclist, I would get in line except he is my son's age!

I suspect there was more than this one issue of GWB.. but it is part of the overall difference of lib vs conservative. NOW he is a full time dad & interested in home values(which the pubbies embrace). Like many relationships when the gilt is pulled back & the essentials are there remaining --- well it is accounting time

Good for Lance & God Bless his future.

Or does that only apply to Ann Coulter, our poster girl?

Actually that rule started as the "Anna K rule" and was revised to include to Ann.

Since that the rule was revised and you brought up Ann, you are now obligated to post her photo, not some ugly liberal as you did.

Also recognizing that I've mentioned Anna, I am thusly obligated to post a photo of her. I meet my obligations.

"There's speculation that the root of the rift may have to do with President Bush."

One need not look as far as politics to find the likely cause. Anyone who knows anything about the effect of extensive long-term bicycle riding on the functionality of the male anatomy can come up with a more likely explanation.

To put it bluntly, for males, performance in the saddle almost always translates into a lack of performance in the sack. Urologists say it's not a question of whether or not dysfunction will occur, only when.

Interesting... I've never seen anything on her political leanings. She was successful in the business enviornment and apparently was a hard worker. She definitely put Lance and his training at the top of her list it seems.

Mary Matalin was on MTP this morning with that White House press reporter, a WSJ writer and Maureen Dowd discussing the Cheney incident.

Matalin was responding to something Dowd said and referred to her as the "diva of the smart set".

I damn near fell out of my chair.
