Yeah, a lot of states has emblems like this, for example: the state bug, the state fruit, etc, etc. This is really old news, if I remeber right - this bill was passed 3 or 4 years ago.

Back in the 80's the Washington State legislature gave serious debate to making "Louie Louie" the official state song. I don't recall if it went to a vote but that was just silly...which was why I was disappointed it didn't make it 8>)

Yep, I've seen some odd state emblems before, but can't say that I've ever seen one quite like this ;-)

And it's very possible that this is 'old news' ... however, it was new to me and I thought it might also be new to others on the forum. It was just too good to pass up! ;-)
