Not that I ever have had an interest in watching this self adoring bit of puffery--but because of "brokeback", I'll be sure not to watch.

How do you get your husband to watch things like that?
My husband walks through the room and says "Are you watching another one of those with all the ugly Brits?" :)

Is it just me?
Or are all the MSM outlets, including Fox AND even the Weather Channel, promoting this thing beyond logical levels?
Seriously, I cannot remember anytime in the past, where the Oscars were promoted, hyped, pushed or presented as feverishly as this rears, (Oops! Freudian slip) I meant, YEAR's event has.

Yes, real life events set in bizaaro world context..
Basically cartoons with the reality switched to opposite effect..
Propaganda or even agitprop..

Hmmm.....think I'll put it on my Netflix queue. I don't do cable these days.
I'd rather watch a MST3K marathon than the Oscars.

Walk The Line , although nor perfect, is far and away a better film than any of the nominees. Hollyweird strikes again!

What's an "oscar"?
I think it's a tropical fish people put in fish tanks.

I guess we've gone from cross dressing films being awarded Oscars (Victor/Victoria, Tootsie, Mrs. Doubtfire, Some Like It Hot, La Cage Aux Folles, The Crying Game, Boys Don't Cry, etc...), to gays playing cowboys.
Or is it cowboys playing gays?

Heh. No, not the fag version. I like the silent version. The huge ships in that one make the 1959 versions' boats look like miniatures.

Fortunately for ABC, there is no strong competition on TV tonight. Tonight may be the largest amount of business Block Buster has done in a while.
I bought "Walk the Line" today to watch as a statement.
Personally, I don't do statements

What goes on at the Oscar's is a sign of what they will do in the next few years.
