There is nothing caustic or abusive about this thread.
It may be written is a sarcastic manner, but it expresses views no different at all then nearly all national commentators have expressed themselves.
We really should discuss the issues raised, regardless if hyperbole or sarcasm was used to get the point across. We are a conservative forum, and these points raised are conservative issues.
Writers and authors use literary tools all the time to make a point. We should not be hard on a fellow member if they use a style and literary tool to make his or her point either.
As I said, most conservative national commentators have stated these same points one way or another. THe views are based on facts of what has happened. WHere is the arguement? The style used???

Not being a Koolaide drinker for the President (or anyone for that matter), I nod my head in affirmation of some of your sarcastic treatment of the President.
But as a patriot and one who generally support Bush for 'Best of a bad lot' reasons.......I find your article suspect and wonder as to your hidden agenda.
The only INVADERS I see are the ones bouncing around inside your skull....
I use sarcasm in some of my replies and don't bother with sarcasm "tags" but if a reader doubts my authenticity or conservatism, I have a track record of more than 10,000 replies that are available for anyone to check with a few mouse clicks.
All that having been said, it's not up to me to ban or let stand the author of this vanity. Up to now the mod has evidently made his/her decision in the matter and I don't question it.
It would be nice if the poster would offer a few comments to clarify his position.

I don't know if you read my post, but the issues raised are legitimate.
However, using a thread title like this and they using sarcasm to make the points only gets the thread moving in a direction of flaming and unproductive attack/defense of the post, not the issues raised.
All of these points can be made on threads in a manner that elicits debate of the issues, not a useless thread that avoids the real issue and just attacks the member.
The issues raised are legit--the method used was wrong since the member should have known honest debate would not be here with the twisting title.

It can't be the issues raised, as they are legit. I am sure the reason for the banning was the twisting of the title.
Yes, they are legitimate issues but the post was ambiguous at best and that is dangerous ground for a new member. If you had been the author of it I wouldn't doubt your meaning.
Also,I've no doubt that had you written it you would have had at least one comment somewhere down thread.

Sarcasm in itself is not bad, nor is hyperbole. However, if you are not giving facts in an honest (preferably sourced) manner, and if the title of the thread is twisted, then you are not going to get an honest debate.
Look at a few of Peggy Noonan's latest articles, e.g. She has been very hard on Bush's policies, but she writes her article in an honest manner. She would never use sarcasm in a TITLE of an article, but uses it in the body to help make specific points.
The ex-member could have raised all these points and the thread could have been an excellent debate, if it was just written in style that showed respect to those who have different views. A twisted title with no attempt to seek an honest debate not going to go anywhere.

Here is another example of how to do it right.
Look at conservative George Will's latest column:
TITLE: Bleakness in Baghdad
First sentence: "At this moment, one of the most dangerous since World War II, America's perils are exacerbated by the travails of a president indiscriminately despised by Democrats and increasingly disregarded by Republicans. What should he do?"
END EXCERPT
Now, Will did not use as his title "BLISS IN BAGHDAD" then twist it into his crticism. Of course, Will also wrote a body of an article with supporting opinion.
This ex-member could have attemtped to write a good article that criticizes the Bush poloicies--the ex-member chose not to. You and I both would have done it differently, maybe not in the mold of a Noonan or Will, but an honest attempt for an honest debate about Bush policies that we see as anti-conservative.

President Bush has been great on most things except for our border.
He has been great on the war on terrorists.
But on the border he is a gross failure.
He acted fast and correct on the 3,000+ people murdered at the world trade center.
He ignores the many rapes, murders and robberies which might be larger than the murders and money loss at the world trade center.
More Americans are abducted on the border of Mexico than in Iraq!
Start building the fence.
It should be made a felony for Criminals who overstay their visas and Invaders.
I believe we should give amnesty to these poor CRIMINALS or INVADERS.
This should be a 2 week amnesty to get the heck out of our Country.
The ones who ignore this amnesty should be buried in a tent city jail and fined $10,000 or buried elsewhere.
All aiders and abettors of these CRIMINALS or INVADERS should get 1 year in a tent city jail and a $10,000 fine for each CRIMINAL aided.
Those in government should be the first ones charged.
