Elliot might do might do really well with some of the ballads Evis sang.
To: Clint N. Suhks
Even though she strangled a kitty in the first song she was #2?

Not so sure about that one. If he does then he needs to tone down the vibrato on his voice. He went overboard tonight.

"Kat's top is ugly as sin"I'm sure everyone watching was real worried about that.
To: misterrob
Do they use the same band each week? I think they were too loud sometimes also.

Definitely..."Love Me Tender", "Can't Help Falling In Love", "Crying in the Chapel".
Taylor..."Jailhouse Rock", "Hound Dog", and obviously "I'm All Shook Up."
I don't know what the girls will sing, though. Or the hardrocker dude.

From another site
Hey Guys...I'm in the Birmingham, AL area, and I just saw Taylor's dad live on the local FOX affiliat openly endorsing VFTW...he said that Taylor, himself, and the entire Soul Patrol were behind the pick, and that Taylor considers it an honor. He said Taylor loves it!! They even showed a screenshot, and gave the URL!!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...
To: misterrob
That song, though not from my generation, rocked.
What I wished is she didn't sit on her butt singing it.
I also want to institute a rule that you're not allowed to leave the stage.
I'm not a Taylor "lover/hater" but he got poor accolades tonight....so did Paris.

I was wrong it comes on at 7:00 pst. It was over at 8:00
To: Clint N. Suhks
It's the Phil Collins song that she massacred....the second was the contemporary song. I thought the on her knees thing was different but unimpressive all in all.

Paris had one good song and one bad. But she may very well be gone.
Kat had one good song and one bad but her good one was my favorite.
STYX is from my hometown and i used to watch them for 50 cents at our Community Center, Chris did Renegade no justice. But over all Chris is/maybe the best.
Elliot was on key, looked great, but sang two of th most boring songs I can imagine. He's my anchor tonight.

Kat can sing. Yes she put me to sleep with a Phil Collins' song but I was very impressed with the contemporary one.
I guess she didn't want to stand over the drummers.

Some songs she can, others she tends to screech on when she hits the high notes. Someone To Watch Over Me was one of her better performances but otherwise she is really inconsistant from week to week.

I'll probably get slapped for this one, but I think they need to be very careful on their song picks. In my opinion, some of Elvis' songs are BORING!
I do like Crying in the Chapel, Suspicious Minds, Little Sister, Jailhouse Rock, All Shook Up, Heartbreak Hotel, Hard Headed Woman, One night, It's Now or Never, Are You Lonesome Tonight?, Stuck On you, Surrender, Devil in Disguise, Way Down, The Wonder of You.

Taylor was the best tonight.
He's got to stop the Joe Cocker impersonation but I support him.

They are too damned loud. Yes, they are and I've often wondered why they haven't been told to cool it a little. We are supposed to be listening to the singers. There were a couple of times when it was hard to hear Taylor. I wondered if his mic wsas working properly.
The band playing too loud might account for Chris having to scream so much.
To: Palladin
I agree all the songs you mentioned for Elliot and Taylor would be great. I wonder which ones they will choose.
To: misterrob
inconsistant WHAT?!?!?!?!
She's been the most consistent of them all.
My only gripe are song choices...from all of them.
Even Chris and Taylor have had their "inconsistencies".
With all due respect of course. LOL!

To: Clint N. Suhks
I'm not a Taylor "lover/hater" but he got poor accolades tonight....so did Paris. He got much better this week than last week when they changed his song at the last minute. I thought the audience was very receptive to him.

"Her top looks pretty good to me.... How about you?"I fell like I went through a car wash.
Without a car.
To: Clint N. Suhks
No, she hasn't been. She did a poor job on the Crack Ho's song last week, she rolled a really bad one tonight and earned herself a trip to the bottom 3 early on.

I sooo agree!! The band has been TOO loud all season!!! I thought I was alone in thinking that.
To: Irish Eyes
So you get to watch it the same time I do. I still liked Kat the best.
To: ladyinred
The band has been TOO loud all season!!! Definately! Sometimes the music should just be a subtle hint.
To: misterrob
Kat has a fantastic voice, but I think she allows the judges to intimidate her too much. On her first song, she seemed to hold back, probably because they told her she "oversings" at times. She should just ignore them, and belt it out. She is visibly nervous, and shouldn't be, although I would be too! She should just let it all hang out and go for it!!!!
To: Palladin
My recap:
Elliot - More of his great voice on display in both songs. Kinda bland though and he was back to some of his old hoppy movements on "Broadway". That Buble song bites, but he did fine with it. He should survive, but will need a "moment" soon to make it all the way. Don't ever count this talented yet humble young man out though!
Paris - I think we all know it's the end of the line for her. She needed to hit a HR, but managed only a couple of singles. She is never bad, but not great often enough to win over new fans. I actually agree with Abdohol that she is better with the "old stuff". Hope she sticks with singing and not gyno.
Chris - I can't add to what Links said - ..."two songs 26 years apart but indistinguishable". Judges, don't blame his tired voice for something y'all would have crapped on everyone else for - that second song was screechy and irritating. What are his concerts gonna be like after a few songs (and how do you know when one song ends and another begins)? "Renegade" was good Daughtry-stuff though and he isn't going anywhere. He hasn't had a serious misstep yet in regards to song choice or overall performance. He won't beat himself, someone will have to knock him off.
Kat - Shouldn't Fox be airing her performances after 10 PM, when the kids are asleep? I think she has figured out her only way to be A-1 on AI is to show plenty of T & A. The first song was dreadful, I mean Pickler-bad. Off the whole song and a terrible choice and arrangement to boot. Definitely vote-off-able. But she benefitted the most from the two-song format and did a decent job with the Turnstall tune. The drums helped her as she went through some yoga apparently. Catchy song, and while new and hip, also had a classic flavor to it. Saved her bacon probably.
Taylor - Make no mistake, this was HIS night. Gave us both Elvises in one hour (if that is the theme next week, look out competition). The first song, er, performance was a big hairy moon to Simon and Nigel, and a tip of the cap to his fans who know he got the shaft last week. Only Taylor can get away with that act, and he did. Notable was him showing that old uninhibited joy during the banter w/Ryan too, something we've only seen on SNL as of late. The second song, "Something", was exquisite, and a perfect way to offset his first selection. He was so into this song, yet kept it tender, sweet and soulful. Of all the contestants, he used the two-song format the best - showing two completely different sides, each crowd-pleasers in their own way.
The judges continue to completely alienate me. They once were so integral, now they just seem to be a waste of time until the next song. Overall, not a night of greatness, but positions are being soldified leading up to the finale.
I think Taylor gained, Chris and Elliot stood firm, Kat slipped a tad, and Paris is waving buh-bye.
To: DLfromthedesert
So you get to watch it the same time I do. I still liked Kat the best. Yes I do ..I am kind of like Elliot right now. Even though I do not usually like country, I really liked Bucky.
To: Palladin
more from that other site regarding the post:
Yeah, and the report actually explained that the point of the site is to protest TPTB at AI, and they did a graphic overlay with the transcript of the post explaining why VFTW endorsesTaylor...
To: misterrob
She did a poor job on the Crack Ho's song last week But if that were true why did Simon, et al, recant their comments?
But anyway. If you want to put her third for tonight...fine!
She's still a better singer than Taylor and Chris even though I'd like their singing more if i heard it on the radio.

I felt really bad when Bucky got kicked off; I do like country; I couldn't stand Ace.
To: Irish Eyes
"Little Sister"Robert Plant did a fabulous version of this song with Rockpile on the 1979 Concert for Kampuchea [Cambodia for those like me who didn't recognize Khmer Rouge propaganda].
Taylor would kick the ass out of this number.
To: DLfromthedesert
