Since when are scholarship athletes automatically rich? If they went to an elite high school, they probably had scholarships there as well.

I think that people need to realize that it is probably because of the money that these two were selected.

The Seligmanns' neighbors declined to speak with reporters and called police when the media stepped on their property.LOL

Duke Lacrosse has become this year's Natalee Holloway story. It's overkill when FNC devotes about half of its 9 PM to 11 PM time slot on this when an update could be provided in three minutes. There are so many more pressing stories that need to be covered.

A lacrosse net sits in front of the home of Duke University lacrosse player Collin Finnerty in Garden City, N.Y., Tuesday, April 18, 2006. Finnerty is being charged with rape and kidnap of a stripper hired to dance at an off campus party last month.

What a vile article. Obviously the accused grew up with privilege while the poor accused grew up in squaller and rampant discrimination because she is black. The liberal press discusses me.

An education at Chaminade cost $6,670 a year in regular tuition, while students in the elite collegiate program paid more than $23,000 annually. For those decent, teetotalling single moms who are reading the article and who want to put their kid through a school like Chaminade, the article should read:
An education at Chaminade cost $6,670 a year in regular tuition, or about seven weeks worth of stripping (including a healthy dose of one-on-ones) . . .

Ok, I'll say it. I don't think she's telling the truth and it wouldn't be a stretch that she looked at their daddy's money. First, there was no DNA match and then at least one of the guys she ID'ed has what seems to be an air tight alibi.

How do you know their parents aren't big democrats?

The media is out to "lynch" the lacrosse team before all the facts are out for everyone to see.
What a crying shame.

I agree completely. I couldn't even watch FOX News last night because that is all it was about. Don't get me wrong, it is a story but rapes happen everyday in America and this one does not deserve 24 hour coverage. I could care less where they go to school or how much or how little money they have.
I did here though that one of the players was involved in a gay bashing incident in the past. Do not know if it is true, I heard it on FOX News.

Of course media is going to cover this.

It'll be interesting to see if there's a team next year. Even if the charges are dropped, would Duke be able to recruit any new players?
