Rosie Named New "View" Co-Host
O'Donnell will be named Friday, Extra reports By TMZ.COM STAFF
(April 27, 7:15PM ET) -- Rosie O'Donnell will be named the newest co-host of The View, replacing the exiting Meredith Vieira, the TV show 'EXTRA' has learned exclusively.
ABC is expected to make the official announcement Friday, April 28.
Connie Chung, Patricia Heaton and Soledad O'Brien also were reportedly up for the job.

Recipe for the mother of all migraine headaches: Turn on "The View" and listen to Rosie and Joy Behar shriek obnoxiously for an hour.
The levels of brain deadness and decibels for this show just went through the roof. Why don't they add Sandra Bernhard as a host, and increase those levels by yet another order of magnitude?
What's the over/under on Star Jones quitting and going back to NBC News & the Duke Rape case, 3 weeks?
Word on the street is that the producers want to replace Elizabeth with a Latino.
You would think some shakeup is coming. Then again, this gets the show in the supermarket tabloids and magazines, which is a ton of free publicity. Pretty cynical view, but that's how I see it.

Ling left The View in 2002 to host National Geographic Ultimate Explorer on the National Geographic Channel. In recent years, Oprah Winfrey has featured many of Ling's foreign country stories.
She probably wont hurt the show. Anyone with good sense doesnt watch it anyway, and the others are too stupid to be bothered by an idiot like Rosie.

When you see a announcement like this things immediately come to mind. If you ever saw the movie Blazing Saddles the have one scene where these guys are all sitting around a camp fire farting. That's the first thing I thought of when I read this because during the one and only time I saw The View for all of 60 seconds that's what it reminded me of. Now, with Rosie it's even more smelly.
ABC - Another Bad Choice
My words, exactly. Just got Star down to fighting weight for Elisabeth and here comes Two-Ton Tony Galindo. Maybe Star will give Rosie her stomach-stapling doctor's card for referral.
Naw, she'd have to 'fess up to do that. Well, I'm gonna puke - I sometimes tune into the first 5-10 minutes to see what the "other side" is saying about something from the morning news. And to root for Hasselbeck.
Meredith is pretty--I don't get the logic of this creepazoid coming into the picture. Katie CutesyPie should've come to The View and Meredith to the CBS News. Don't care who goes to the Today Show, but it'll ruin Meredith.

If you look at the bios of the current hosts of The View, it says this about Elisabeth:
"Quick to express her conservative views, Mrs. Hasselbeck has proven herself not only as a strong young woman, but someone who won't let her voice be compromised, making her the perfect addition to the show."
But, if you search for the word "liberal", "leftist", "democratic shill", or "moonbat" it doesn't come up in any of the other hosts' bios.
That's odd. How could ABC have made this oversight?
