I love heels and sandles. If you switch them around you'll be ok. Wear a pair that rubs the opposite way of the pair you wore yesterday. I can't imagine getting too old to love heels.

Best Antidote to Dr. Scholls Monstrosities = Merrill sandals.

I've had reconstructive foot surgery four times and have fallen in love with Merrill shoes. They keep me walking!

Flexiblefootwear.com. Most comfortable shoes on the planet.
They aren't cheap, but I have three pairs (one for the office, one for in the house, and one for going outside) and recommend them to anyone. I'm a vet and am on my feet all day. Before these shoes my feet ached very badly at the end of the day, especially after standing in one place for hours doing surgery. Now I have no discomfort, and actually don't want to take the Flexible Footwear shoes off, ever. I made my Mom buy a pair after hearing her complain about some major foot problems and she was quite happy with them and just bought a second pair. (And you can sit on them without discomfort!) Why anyone would wear a pair of shoes that hurt just because they're "cute" is insane.

Nah, I already told my husband I wanted to barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen. He didn't agree

He just doesn't understand yet what a treasure he has in you.

Hmm, when I go there, I see nothing....?? I actually don't mind cutesie shoes. Just don't ask me to wear them on a regular basis. And don't ask me to wear them in Seattle at all - the hills here are nasty.

When I visited my daughter in Ohio this past winter, I was shocked to see the college kids wearing flop flops!

Here I was, from sunny San Diego, California freezing in my jacket and scarf, the kids were oblivious to the cold.

They climatized! My husband wears shorts year round and my folks from the inland valley think he's absolutely nuts! lol... Sunny California hasn't been all that sunny lately.

It's just as bad for those of us who wear small shoes.. 5 1/2 is my size, and I get told they don't make my size any more, they send them to the border states etc. as excuses as to why they don't carry my size. I get told to go look in the kiddie section for my shoes...I'm 57 I don't want kiddie shoes or to buy a size bigger. I want adult shoes that don't pinch my toes, or rub my heels or are spiked heels (what ever happened to sinciple 1.5 inch pumps), ones that make my feet look nice not clunky, not funky or ugly.

Or I get told to order them off the internet...only problem with that is you can't try before you buy and that means you can't judge their fit, comfort or looks, and sizes are not consistant.

CROCs rock. I wore them the other day on a 2-mile walk and I couldn't believe how great my feet felt. Better than sneakers, better than barefoot. They don't even let your feet sweat somehow!

I got them for my kids too now.

I don't buy shoes anymore unless they're comfortable enough for me to stand to be in them for a whole day.

It's a unisex issue: "You can't be happy when your feet are sad."

LOL! Sounds like the footwear corollary to "Nothing goes right when your underwear's tight."

My Birkies are the most comfortable shoes I own!

Amen. I love mine. I fell in love back when I was a tree-huggin' college student. I couldn't find a pair of hiking boots that wouldn't put blisters on top of blisters. I still have scars from that abuse. It got to the point were I'd just hike in my birks they were so comfy.

I really like the current trend toward mules and slides. I love not having 'shoe' rub on my heels. My current favorite pairs is a casual Friday shoe: Luchesse's "Charlie One Horse" Slides. They're just yummy.

Oh, I see it now. :) Thanks. Yeah their website doesn't have much on there. I assume you have to write or call them to get a catalog?

Probably. It's a small company in Pennsylvania. I found them at a veterinary conference I had to attend.
