Whole yard stolen Arrested man accused of taking sod, sprinklers, landscaping items from home under construction
By KATHERINE ROSENBERG Staff Writer
ADELANTO Logic would dictate that one of the tricks to avoid getting caught stealing is to take small, discreet items.
That usually rules out stealing something as large as, say, an entire front yard.
A local man was arrested Monday after reportedly stealing sod, sprinklers and other landscaping items from a home still under construction, according to Staci Johnson, spokeswoman for the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Adelanto station.
The victim reported that the materials were stolen from his home in the 14600 block of Tourpey Street. Witnesses told him that the thief was seen taking the materials to a residence in the 11700 block of Tara Lane, Johnson said.
Following up on that information, Deputy Pat Briggs and Deputy Art Alvarado identified David Roger Bowers, 34, of the Tara Lane home. Through investigation they determined that Bowers was responsible for removing the various lawn items from the victim's home.
Bowers was arrested on suspicion of grand theft and possession of stolen property and he was booked at the Victor Valley Jail, Johnson said.
The landscaping materials were returned to the victim, officials said.
He should have waited for a yard sale.
ping
The criminal should be tied down on the lawn while new sod is put in.
LOL!
More impressive if hed dug it to China, and stolen two yards at once.
Sod off, Swampy.
Offered an inch, tried to take a Yard, but got caught...8^)
Now that was a classic.
I'll bet he left the pink flamingos behind, though.
Reminds me of the famous Firesign Theater "Porgy Tirebiter" sketch where the students from Communist Martyrs High School steal the entire Morse Science High School.
What does Bush need a whole yard for?
Oh, probably to drop on innocent Iraqi's from the air, or drill for oil in. LOL
:-D
While in washington state friends told about a cabin that was stolen. About 500 sq-ft rural area, owner found house missing and heavy equipment tracts.
A yard sale gone bad?
