Perhaps her clips were being aired in NY which is north of Durham.

I've never been a Greta defender. However, that being said. In the larger cities, one usually sees the USUAL practice of CRAP, which is now taking place in Durham.

Just yesterday, got to hear a visiting NYer go on about the Hamptons. lol. I just kept my quiet.

A thing that is true, however, is that being live in a large city is a different kind of work from living rurally. Both rural and urban work; they work differently.

One thing I celebrate everyday about my move NC? I don't have the constant and repeated hysteria which accompanied where I used to live.

But of course now, there's "durham".. (I did NOT bring it with me.)

City Council Member Clement's brother-in-law, George Williams, is the architect for a new stip club proposed by the owner of Diamond Girls, the club where the AV freaked out after her lap dancing tryout ...

Planned strip club draws fire

DURHAM -- East Durham activists are criticizing plans for a strip club off U.S. 70 Business at Ashe Street, going so far as to say they'll picket the home of the man who wants to build it.

City/county planners confirmed Tuesday that they're reviewing a Nov. 10 permit application from roofing and insulation firm owner Larry Jones, who wants permission to build a 68-seat adult nightclub on a 1.5-acre parcel he controls through a firm called The Galley Inc.

City/county planners confirmed Tuesday that they're reviewing a Nov. 10 permit application from roofing and insulation firm owner Larry Jones, who wants permission to build a 68-seat adult nightclub on a 1.5-acre parcel he controls through a firm called The Galley Inc.

A local architectural firm headed by George Williams -- a former Durham County manager and the brother-in-law of City Councilman Howard Clement -- is designing the 7,223-square-foot building for Jones.

http://www.herald-sun.com/durham/4-732069.html

Jones already owns one strip club in the city, the Diamond Girls club on Angier Avenue. That club is closer than 1,000 feet to residential property, but regulators let it keep operating because it was in business before the present buffer requirements went into effect.

Media reports have tied Diamond Girls to the Duke lacrosse case because the woman who's accused two members of the school's lacrosse team of raping her "tried out" for a job at the club four years ago.

After the tryout, she stole a taxi cab and drove it to Raleigh. She later pleaded guilty to larceny, speeding to elude arrest, assault on a government official and driving while impaired.

HOWARD CLEMENT, longtime Durham city councilman: Check the branches on your family tree. After you said in October that you've detected no cronyism or nepotism in Bull City government during your 22 1/2 years in office, we wondered whether you noticed brother-in-law George Williams, who was awarded a succession of city contracts (including one to survey Durham's cemetery needs soon after Williams was fired as Durham County manager), perched on one of your branches.

On a separate item, the board split 4-3 to overrule staff recommendations to award a $199,620 contract to design the proposed Walltown Park Recreation Center to a Charlotte company. The contract, instead, was awarded to George Williams -- a politically connected local architect who is the brother-in-law of council member Howard Clement III.

James Tabron, who was forced to resign as head of the Durham Housing Authority in 2003 and who is widely blamed for leading that agency to the brink of financial collapse, signed Eagle Village's state incorporation documents in 1998. City Council member Howard Clement served on the nonprofit's board, while his brother-in-law, former Durham County Manager George Williams, performed the architectural work on Centennial Village and other projects.

Durham Mayor Bill Bell said the city is still investigating what "checks and balances" were missing in the municipal government's dealings with Eagle Village and just how taxpayers got left holding the bag.

"I would certainly have liked it better if the project had been built as planned," Bell said of the demolition. "We're still trying to determine exactly what went wrong."

It seems as if Nifong is filing motions too.

http://herald-sun.com/durham/4-736328.html

Before the court hearing, Nifong filed a motion saying he was entitled to receive certain information from defense attorneys. Among that information, Nifong said he needed advance notice if any of the suspects intended to claim "entrapment, insanity, mental infirmity, diminished capacity, self-defense, accident, automatism, involuntary intoxication and voluntary intoxication."

Nifong also wanted to know if any of the suspects intended to mount an alibi defense.

"Remember when this first came out, it was okay....they used condoms and wore hoodies..."

L'il Kim called them "limp dick white boys." If that's true, there was no sense in using condoms other than wishful thinking.

Durham is now and always has been a dysfunctional black town.

I remember several years ago watching a story on TV about how well blacks did in Durham, The story compared and contrasted Durham to other places, one thing they said was Detroit has 10 times a black population than Durham but Durham has 10 times as many black entrepreneurs than Detroit.

Were there three semen samples found in her, or one?

I don't think that information has been released yet. What has been said is there is one match. Nothing has been said about how many different sources of semen.

Also still unanswered: why did they ask those three different men for a DNA sample? Maybe there were three sources in her.

I would say it sounds like she gave the names of three men she had sex w/ in a 6 day period, so they tested each of them.

Yes
Devon Sherwood said he briefly attended the party.

Chuck Sherwood said his son went to the party not knowing that a stripper had been hired and departed soon after arriving. "I think he left because he didn't have much interest in what they were doing," he said. What transpired after that, Sherwood said, his son couldn't say.

Wow. You must be furious with pretty much all criminal cases.

Get yourself a new crystal ball, Miss Cleo.

Resident litigator says they should have protested the amount of bond at the bond hearing. I replied that I would cough up any number to get my son out of Durham Jail and then worry about getting it reduced later. Also they didn't have all the documentation from senators, congressmen, etc., saying he wasn't a flight risk. Lawyer says "that's not how it works." Justice system needs an overhaul.

Well, golly gee, then I guess he knows more than Read's HIRED attorney, huh?

Me too.

>>Nifong also wanted to know if any of the suspects intended to mount an alibi defense. WHAT!<,

He wants all of the alibi information, IMO, so that he can manipulate his time line. He needs to know where they were. The timeline we know about totally exonerates the Duke boys.

Good point except do we know that the intention was to call the cops when they got to Kroger's? It appeared to me from some phone call that I read, that either Crystal or Kim knew the FEMALE guard at Kroger's AND there was talk of taking Crystal to a Mental Institution which would mean no police.

We really need ALL the 9-11 tapes related to this case, internal police calls and police notes....just like the defense is calling for.

How much time transpired between the time they arrived at Kroger's and when the 9-11 call was made? We'll have to see. It's a very short time line. No matter. This case DEMANDS DNA on/in Crystal from all of the boys for conviction. I just know they're headed for a lesser charge...with intent...in the title. She'll be depicted as "running for her life"....

Yes I'm sure that is right, I really hope he will try to stick with that plan that the 12:41 photo is actually her arriving, that one would blow up in his face so bad, he would have to leave town.
