I made a screwup, and need to contact a moderator. A guy signed up with the screen name Dr. Richard Kimball. I posted to him, asking him to pick another name, as there might be confusion as to which of us had posted. He was very nice, and did. After making two posts with his new screen name, his privileges were revoked. I think it was because of signing up with multiple screen names.
I feel badly about it, because he seems like a nice guy, and I think I accidentally got him banned. Anyway, I didn't want to flag abuse, which is the only way I know to catch a mod's ear. I also wanted to publicly apologize to him for messing him up early in his freeping career.

clever screen name, incidentally -- amazing that someone else had the same idea! Like when two people independently get an idea for an invention, or a song, or something else.
Probably now no one will be able to use the name Richard Kimball or Dr. Richard Kimball, ever again. But have you ever thought of Master Richard Kimball, or Richard Kimball Esq., or Richard Kimball Jr., or The Rev. Richard Kimball?
I think there's hope if you just get a little creative.

You're probably right - I just imagined those posts and they didn't really happen.
I just thought any time a post was deleted, it would have a note that *said* Post #46 or (whatever) was deleted.
I mean, can I make my own posts just *poof* into the ether without a note at the placemark?
Not worried. I just joined last fall and knew for many years that there was already a "Route66" here, which is why I hadn't signed up.
Finally decided I would try, anyway, because a number of FReepers already knew my postings on another forum as "Rte66" and it had been my hat for a long time.
We preacefully co-exist and have only crossed paths once in the same thread in the 8 months I've been posting. Of course, you're more prolific and well known than I, so RK could be a problem.
Is that Dr. Richard Kimball or just Richard Kimball in the middle? I know that on the left is Eb, and on the right is Mr. Drucker, who owns the store in the background.

I just thought it might be confusing, and since he'd just signed up, I thought it would reduce confusion to change names before he got in. It wasn't THAT big a deal, just something that I thought might be easier for both of us. I didn't want to get him banned. It's like downloading songs off the internet. You don't know the damage you've done until you find out that Brittney Spears had to get a Gulfstream 3 instead of a Gulfstream 4 because of people downloading her songs.
Sure. And when I get my super-secret top clearance and the special decoder ring, I can even show you what the posts said at one time.
