Second Lacrosse Party Dancer Makes Obscene Gesture In Court
WRAL ^ | 5-30-2006 | WRAL

Posted on 05/30/2006 7:51:21 PM PDT by JayHawk Phrenzie

A second exotic dancer who performed at a March 13 Duke University lacrosse team party where a woman says she was raped and assaulted by three athletes made an obscene gesture at a television camera during court proceedings on Tuesday.

When Kim Roberts noticed WRAL's camera in the courtroom, she made the gesture and then stuck out her tongue.

If the university had any sort of management, they'd be suing that lunatic prosecutor and the city of Durham into tommorrow-morrow land. in fact if I were the president of Duck university, my first act would be to call the mayor of Durham on the phone and tell him to put a stop to the BS immediately if he wanted the university to remain in Durham. Universities can be moved.

The school had no policy suggesting students hire whores or dancers off campus or on that I of.

That's pretty much irrelevant. The problem here is abuse of power by the one prosecutor.

I saw the news clip last night. Outside the "finger" and the "tongue" thing, any idea of how the hearing went? lol.

Thing is, WRAL, has actually been quite supportive of Kim. They didn't reports LOTS of things about Kim (and Crystal). Just goes to show... "no good deed goes unpunished".

My reply to her would include the phrase.."and the horse you rode in on!"

Which, for some reason, reminds me of the classic Parker gem: You can lead a horticulture but you can't make her think.

I'd like to hear from the people she embezzled the 25K from, and ask them how they feel about her being free to walk the streets, literally. Did she pay that money back? Anyone who has ever been destroyed by a "white collar" crime would not hesitate to see this woman executed. The "victim of cocaine" CPA who did this to Mr.X and 120 other business owners was facing 60 yrs., recevied 10 yrs., served 10 MONTHS...because, after all, NOBODY GOT HURT. Wanna bet?

This is more "Nifong is mentally unhinged" fallout that actually bolsters the theory that Kim stole the money from the boys or from the "victim". The cab driver who backed up Seigalman's story is now under arrest. Nifong is using his office to rig this case, and he should be in jail himself.

The cab driver who backed up Seigalman's story is now under arrest.

Is that true? Has he been arrested again, or are you referring to the incident a few weeks ago?

Durham doesn't have a higher class of adult entertainers yet. They probably could have found something better on craigslists.

I am referring to a report I read about two weeks ago.
The cabbie had some minor beef with the Durham PD and like lots of people, he ignored it. As I recall, it was mostly a paperwork and fine thing, but he didn't take care of it. Always a mistake, since the parasites that make up local DMV and county courthouse staff need that paperwork to justify their existence.

Anyway, he is in trouble now, Finnerty is looking at the old charge in D.C. coming back, as is Evans who's got some minor infraction deal thing, too. Sticky Fingers Kim stole 25K from her employer and is walking around free. The most vicious crime here is what has been done to these boys and to their families. One of the other Lacrosse players tried to enter another program at Syracuse and was denied, even though the program there had tried to recruit him during H.S. Innocent until proved guilty is right out the window in this country, and we can thank the likes of OJ Simpson and Claus von Bulow and their slimy, godless lawyers.

And H. Keith H. Brodie the President who hired him. Brodie was an M.D. whose main goal as president was to make sure the entire agenda of the university was directed to getting the massive hospital construction funded and completed. Why the heck Brodie thought it should be a priority to make the English Department take a big turn to the left has puzzled some of us for years. Did Duke really need to be a world leader in "Queer Theory"? (he asked rhetorically)

Thanks for the info. I think the only protection that innocent cab driver has from being persecuted for his honesty is for the whole country to be watching for Nifong and Durham authorities to persecute him.

I know I've heard worry expressed on FR that there would be some trumped up charge used to try to deport him. Based on what we've seen, I wouldn't doubt that Nifong and his local political machine (inc. the city manager) would try it if they thought they could get away with it.

Some years ago the cabbie gave two women a ride to the mall. One woman went in, the other stayed in the cab. When the first woman returned from the mall he gave them both a ride home.

Turns out the woman who went into the mall had shoplifted some purses from Hechts. The cabbie helped Hecht's security identify the women and they were eventually caught and punished.

Apparently the DPD had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant on the cabbie for driving the "getaway vehicle". When he came to the DPD's attention for providing an alibi for RS, the DPD dug up the warrant and had him arrested. Last I heard he's out on bail.

The two cops sent to arrest the cabbie just by coincidence happened to be the two detectives investigating the rape case. (Who sends detectives--instead of street cops--to serve an expired warrant on a cabbie in a case that's already closed?)

That could be called intimidation of a witness, and is a felony for all involved (the detectives and whoever sent them).

Don't hold your breath waiting for 'justice' or the results of an 'internal investigation' in this. . .

Here you can read about the incestuous relationship between Mark Simeon (Kim's attorney) and Nifong.

They were blood enemies until just weeks before this election.
Simeon banking on a large civil setttlment (he represents Kim and he is the go-between for Crystal's family and Willie Gary, and he has advised Crystal's family on aspects of this case), makes a deal with Nifong. Nifong acts like Kim, just of the Lam, is not a flight risk and gives her a sweet deal on bond/bail and Kim ostensibly agrees to cooperate with Nifong and be a state's witness. Mark Simeon then agrees to speak to the black community where Nifong was not popular before this case. Simeon touts Nifong as a great DA candidate and a good guy to black groups in the critical day or two before the election.

Simeon has gone from a bitter enemy of Nifong to one of his biggest supporters in a very short time frame. Kim has gone from being a wanted fugitive from the state to being the Darling of the DA with a sweet deal hand delivered by Nifong.

This article has some info pertaining to Simeon and Nifong and their back room deals:
