I totally agree.

He ended up slinding on his hands and knees on the pavement. Luckily, I didn't run over him, as I was a safe distance back. I stopped to check on him and he was okay, just a bit bloody with stones imbedded in his hands and knees.
He had leather gloves on, and leather pants cover his jeans which I believe gave him a little extra protection as opposed to no gloves and only jeans. That was scary for me and him.
Olympia Snowe?
According to Channel 11, Ben and his family were supposed to do a big Campbell's soup commercial this week.
Beyond mere stupidity.
Likely a violation of his contract.
Mr. Rooney tried to get him not to ride the damn thing at all, helmet or no helmet.
;-)
Unfreakinbelievable!! Any word at all on his condition??
ESPN is reporting that it isn't life threatening but nothing else really.
The Armstrong Tunnels are weird for they are the only tunnels I know of with a big curve.
Also that intersection is busy and somewhat dangerous.
It must hurt because it's true. It's not a pejorative statement - it's a real statement on the level of risk a person accepts when they decide to go riding without a helmet.
I did a header once over the bars of a regular bike going around 20mph -- scraped a two-inch swath of beard off my chin and still have the forearm scars many years later. Can't image what would've happened if it had been a motorcycle going much faster...
He's a fool for at least not wearing the helmet, and lucky to still be around today.
I saw first hand the effects of motorcycle accidents as a young person. It happend across the street from our house in Albuquerque. I saw the look on the face of the father who was called to scene where his son had just died. After that, i never wanted a motorcycle. Luckily our 19 year old son never wanted one. He was involved in a big pile-up in Austin last month. Car was totaled, but the airbags deployed and he walked away...unhurt. I hope and pray Ben is OK but I would hope he would wear a helmet if he's got to ride a motorcycle. It just makes sense to do so.
Life threatening and career threatening are two different things.
If Ben's injuries are career threatening, it could be life threatening for Ben when meeting zealous Steeler fans, especially if he was not wearing a helmet, and I'm not really kidding.
Whoa. I still remember Robin Yount riding his dirt bike into old County Stadium after the Brewers lost the 1982 World Series sans helmet (or a street-legal bike for that matter). It got the crowd wild and the presstitutes all huffy.
At the risk of being pummeled by some Freepers, riding *with* a helmet is quite dangerous as well.
In time for the Browns to beat them twice, to be sure. But fully.
Kellen Winslow II had an accident last year that caused him to miss the season, and there was a lot of talk about Ben also riding, and not wearing a helmet. Ugh.
