CLEBURNE, Texas: A rail worker who lost his legs when a train ran over him used a mobile phone to report that he was trapped and had been "cut in two". Truman Duncan, 36, was in a critical condition yesterday after the accident on Sunday at the Gunderson Southwest rail yard in Cleburne.
In a tape of the 911 call, Duncan tells the operator: "I need 911 ... I think I'm cut in two."
The operator asks: "Someone got run over?"
Duncan replies: "It was me. I guess I'm going into shock. Hurry up, ma'am, because I'm about to pass out."
Duncan and a co-worker were attempting to connect rail cars.
It took rescuers about an hour tofind Duncan and free him fromthe tracks.

Forward yesterday
Makes me wanna stay
What they said was real
Makes me wanna steal
Livin' under house
Guess I'm livin', I'm a mouse
All's I gots is time
Got no meaning, just a rhyme
Take time with a wounded hand
'Cause it likes to heal
Take time with a wounded hand
'Cause I like to steal
Take time with a wounded hand
'Cause it likes to heal, I like to steal
I'm half the man I used to me
This I feel as the dawn
It fades to gray
Well, I'm half the man I used to be
This I feel as the dawn
It fades to gray
Well, I'm half the man I used to me
This I feel as the dawn
It fades to gray
Well, I'm half the man I used to be, half the man I used to be
Feelin' uninspired
Think I'll start a fire
Everybody run
Bobby's got a gun
Think you're kinda neat
Then she tells me I'm a creep
Friends don't mean a thing
Guess I'll leave it up to me
Take time with a wounded hand
'Cause it likes to heal
Take time with a wounded hand
Guess I like to steal
Take time with a wounded hand
'Cause it likes to heal, I like to steal
I'm half the man I used to me
This I feel as the dawn
It fades to gray
I'm half the man I used to be
This I feel as the dawn
It fades to gray
I'm half the man I used to be
This I feel as the dawn
It fades to gray
I'm half the man I used to be, half the man I used to be
Take time with a wounded hand
'Cause it likes to heal
Take time with a wounded hand
Guess I like to steal
Take time with a wounded hand
'Cause it likes to heal, I like to steal
I'm half the man I used to me
This I feel as the dawn
It fades to gray
I'm half the man I used to be
This I feel as the dawn
It fades to gray
I'm half the man I used to be
This I feel as the dawn
It fades to gray
I'm half the man I used to be, half the man I used to be,
Half the man I used to be
Nirvana
I'm going to my room now

It took rescuers about an hour to find Duncan and free him from the tracks Wonder why it took so long seeing as how he wasn't working alone?

Per the local newpaper website:
Duncan was reported to be in critical condition at Harris Methodist Fort Worth hospital Monday morning. The hospital declined to release any information on the extent of his injuries, citing medical privacy laws.

Whew!
I can't imagine the excruciating pain he was in and had the semblance of mind to still focus and call 911.
Prayers for him.

It took rescuers about an hour tofind Duncan and free him fromthe tracks. If this guy was cut in two he's dead ... no way you survive a traumatic injury of this type and live beyond 20 minutes.

Well, I don't suppose my thought processes would be close to normal if my legs had just been separated from the rest of my body.

When Duncan was found the fire department and CareFlite Ground Services paramedics began treating him for massive leg injuries. One leg was reported to be caught between a steel wheel and brake and the other leg was caught on some wheel and axle parts.

I heard of a man who was run over by a train and it cut off the entire left side of his body. It was OK though...after that he was all right.

My father worked for the Illinois Central RR and saw something a lot worse. A switchman was crossing the tracks and got caught in between a couple of boxcars that coupled through him. All of his insides were pushed up, but he was alive when the train came into the yard. His wife was brought there so they could say their goodbyes. After the cars was uncoupled, everything came out and he died. My dad said that it was one of the worst things he ever witnessed.
I just hope that this unfortunate soul will make it through this accident mentally and physically. I hope he has enough of his legs left so prosthetics limbs can be used. My prayers are with him. and his family.

He's still alive after having both his legs severed. He's in critical condition but the Doctors expect him to survive.
Prayers sent.
