OKIE DOKIE! I don't have a dog in your fight but since you asked for it. You're a pompous ass. Clear enough?

That's some intelleigent contribution to the discussion. And completely meaningless as an insult coming from an anonymous source, though it DOES tell me a lot about you.

I imagine you use that childish insult whenever someone dares think, obviously an alien concept to you. Now go ponder your sad little life.

Naw, I was just playing along with CBart's impeccable logic. :-)

I understand what you are implying -- all the parts, and I still disagree with you. I agree with you there are differences. But a predator is a predator. You are essentially making the point that women are oppressed by males -- even young males -- to the point that adult women cannot withstand being sexual with a male.

Adult women who have sex with underage boys do so for power just as much as adult males with underage girls. It's a power trip.

You, I gather, are arguing from the position of the mechanics of the sex act and its differences regarding the sexes.

If we go the metaphysical route, are not boys MORE spiritually corrupted when they are preyed upon? I think they are. Females, OTOH, do have to worry about unwanted pregnancies.

But the mechanics of the sex act should have little bearing upon the case of either sex taking sexual advantage of minors.

I've met and spoken at length with underage "boy toys". By the time they are fifteen, they are bitter. Making money, but unable to have normal relations. At friendship or intimacy levels.

The conservative version of being PC is pretending that there is no difference between a man seducing an underage girl, and a boy being seduced by an attractive adult woman.

Just to clarify, I couldn't agree more. I can't believe the flak you're taking on this thread.

I've had clients who were traumatized by something another client didn't give a second thought to--individual personalities determine the way of subsequently dealing with such a situation.

That is true. I agree. However, I was responding to your anecdote about finding no "consequences" in young males, in that I *had* found negative consequences in young males.

I do agree with you about the "case by case" thing, as a generally good thing; however, this can in no way negate the fact that THE TEACHER IS IN A POSITION OF PAID, TAXPAYER FUNDED PUBLIC TRUST. If an employee of the state of feds embezzels funds, should that also be taken on a case by case level? Of course not, no doubts you'd agree.

I don't think were this a female in a position of NOT PUBLIC trust it would even merit a headline.

I'd say the underage male had a girlfriend who didn't like competition and called in some muscle. :-)

I think you may have nailed it (so to speak).

How many people who've had their funds embezelled later bragged about it?

Utah has a different point of view about this sort of thing. It will be interesting to see what kind of impact (no pun intended) this has on her behavior from here going forward. These women AND men who are seducing students need to be stopped, period.

Being initiated into sex was the point of the flick and book "Summer of 42". And yes, this dance between adult females and underage males is age-old.

Most school districts do not hire sex offenders. Most districts do not seek out pedophiles to be entrusted with the care of the underage. This woman broke that trust. Every teacher, no doubts, will be viewed with suspicion, now -- and the withunts and hysteria will ensue.

As a culture, we've been through it already with the DayCare cases, now it will transmogrify to the highschool and junior high level ages.

And the lawyers will continue to make big money. The school districts will be depleted in funds to pay for their defense. And the liberals will whine about lack of EDUCATION funding while promoting a "sexual tolerance" agenda between teachers and students.

It's the same old schill.

I see from this post of yours that you were engaged by older females into the sex act and that you perhaps benefitted by such. This is not new given 4000 years of history.

If the Catholic Clergy are being sued up the whazzoo for "predatory behaviors", so should this teacher. And that's the problem. Throw the freakin book at this female teacher -- NOW, QUICKLY before the left takes another breath!

Uh, lol... I'm from California. Those who embezzle funds give it a fancier, more "50 centish" term and phraseology and then run for office again.

Maybe the 17 year old boy came back for an encore, but had already turned eighteen and was turned down because now he was too old for her taste.

It took me a bit of reading everything before I understood your position. The mixing up of Personal versus "Public Trust" is what I think, was confusing. You were speaking from a more personal take on the matter; right or wrong. It's a separate debate to this article and thread. I now understand this.

This teacher gets my spittle. And zero of my empathy.

"...he was coerced into doing what he did with Deluca. They said they believe he was abused because he "wasn't mature enough to make a decision" in the matter.

I know it is against the law but this woman's statement is absurd. You don't have to coerce a 16 year old male into getting it up.

"Death for betrayal is too kind. The damages and the permanent suffering that they have wreaked on innocents is impossible to make reparations for. Punishment and penalties ought to be severe and without end."

Punishment is in order because she violated a law. That said this kid was not only not damaged, but he now has bragging rights for the next few years. There were a few teachers in my HS that I would have given my left one to bang.

Look at your response. Proves the point.

Meaningless? It got the guppy to take the bait.

Your cerebral masturbations don't advance the "discussion", they just revive the memories of that one smarmy, unctuous, classroom lawyer that was the class PITA.

You're a narcissistic, pompous ass.

Thanks. Others who have few or zero core beliefs will always be shocked when someone who does strongly disapporves of molestation of our children.

Adult responsible reactions almost always shock this type of marginal citizen.

Hence, the name calling and the silly epithets like "Libertine"...let's give this soul a dictionary.

At 16, the boy was old enough to make his own decisions on whether to sleep with a 29-year-old woman

"People have a right to know what's happening in the schools," she said. "We send them to school thinking their teachers are fighting with us in the war against drugs, gangs, sex and all the things we know they face. We assume they have the same agenda as us, and when that trust is breached, it's devastating."

I didnt know there was a war against sex?! I know what side Im going to be on!!!!
