That wasn't jihad... that was plain old vendetta at someone who insulted a sick mother and was very foulmouthed. Everyone has more than one motivation to do things, and merely because Zidane's from Algeria doesn't mean he's a Muslim terrorist.

.....Zidane's from Algeria doesn't mean he's a Muslim terrorist.

Of course, I apologize to Zidane and the entire Zizou family. However, in all fairness, I must point out being a Muslim from anywhere seems to be the basic building block of terrorism, at the moment.

I also think, provoked as he doubtless was, Zizou should have shown more common sense. Especially as a role model in a country where many hundreds of thousands of Muslim youths, born in France, have been recently been on such a destructive rampage.

But the fall was a flop

Oh, I, totally agree. In fact, it wasn't even a particularly elegant flop. In order for me to give Materazzi top marks, I would have expected to see a least 30 seconds of feigned unconsciousness, or perhaps temporary blindness.

Had the ref been a bit slower with the red card, I sure he could have done it. What this so-called sport (which is a lot like watching epoxy cure) needs, perhaps, is American judges on the sidelines, holding up those score placards they use for olympic diving, or gymnastics. Whether he was actually hurt or not, Materazzi's acting would get no more than a 4.5

The French side is filled with slammies -- like the "reverter" < a href = "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franck_Rib%C3%A9ry"> Ribéry</a>

Yeah, that'd be Cancer. My birthday is June 22, and I understand that I'm a Cancer-Gemini cusp. A day later puts him firmly on the Cancer side.

You're absolutely right. Zidane was like a few athletes I know here; he was stupid at the wrong moment.

You are right but not in strict definition. Wahbaaist fundamentalist muslims and their racist/nihilist ideology are the problem but we use the term "terrorist" not to offend out Saudi "friends" spit. This is like saying "he who must no be named" when the average joe doesn't really understand who the hell we are talking about. I lived with an Iranian for three years in college. Not a bad guy but I have since lost contact. Anyway, everyone tries to gain any edge in a competition. You can't imagine someone with his history succumbing at that moment to a verbal slur. It defied logic. Also I heard some a$$wipe soccer guy on Scarborough Country saying Zidane was justified in attacking the Italian for the slur 'terrorist'. This guy was an American journalist and apparently doesn't understand the second amendment. I know this wasn't in America and he was a journalist but damn is he that fnnn stupid. I guess so.
