Dixie Chicks replace Miss Marple on PBS TV
TOPICS: Miscellaneous
KEYWORDS: defundpbs; dixiechickspbs
Dixie Chicks concert was an unannounced replacement for Miss Marple Mystery on PBS Channel 21 LI NY at 9pm Eastern Time. Another example of PBS favoring anti-Bush programming

From putting them on the cover of
Time to buying up thousands of CDs and blocks of concert tickets -- to serve as fundraising enticements to Democrat donors, no doubt -- the Libs will buoy up this sinking prairie schooner NO MATTER WHAT!
They are indeed laughable. "They ARE TOO still popular! Because WE say so!"

I'm wondering if Soros or somebody is buying all those new CD's they released. I'll bet we'll see all kinds of them in the bargain bin at the record store.

When you are on PBS and it isn't a Christmas special you have hit rock bottom in your career.

There must be better Christmas specials than PBS. Most TV programming sucks. I am selective in what I watch since most available programs put me to sleep. At least Fox News can provide some watching time. Also the History & Discovery channels.

Most channels don't show musical Christmas shows.
That is about the only redeeming thing on PBS anymore. Even Nova has crashed and burned.

As I've said many times previously on various posts;PBS is the home of old, tired, washed up acts.Usually Liberal.
I said the Ditzy Twits would end up there.....I just didn't think so SOON. HA-HA!

It might be a good idea to remember this when it comes time for a pbs fundraiser-- oops, that's just about all the time, no?

By putting the Bolshevik Chicks on PBS as if they were a mainstream American act will definitely hurt PBS's credibility. I will definitely not contribute to PBS anymore.

The only good shows on PBS are "This Old House" and it's spin-offs.

Absolutely. Wal-Mart, Target, and Amazon.com cut the price in half 10 days after release because they couldn't unload it. The rich liberals that bought all these CDs are probably giving them away at fundraisers for a $5.00 donation to the DNC.

San Francisco put them on the radio. Their comeback is in full swing! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

San Francisco put them on the radio. Their comeback is in full swing! What station?
To: uncitizen
To: Excuse_My_Bellicosity
Oops, LA not San Francisco. The station is 89.9 KCRW, which is "National Public Radio's Southern California flagship station". Oh, an NPR station. An NPR "Flagship Station", no less. I'm so impressed!
To: uncitizen
No doubt. It's kind of like saying, "We're the best $3.00 buffet in town!!"
To: Excuse_My_Bellicosity
What i don't get is why NPR is making such an effort to prop up the Chix career? What do they gain from this? It's not like NPR has an overwhelming number of Country music fans listening to them. And even if any were listening, i doubt it would change many opinions of the Chix.
Or is NPR trying to bring the Chix music to the attention of it's liberal (usual) listeners? What good will it do NPR to expose liberals to country music? What if they end up liking it and start listening to the likes of Hank Jr and friends?
Or is it just about money for NPR? Are the Chix getting special treatment because they've made the requisite sufficient donation to NPR?
Maybe crossing over ain't easy without the help of the segment of the music industry you're crossing over from...
