John Karr is one sick loon.
To: veronica
They had to go all the way to Thailand to get him. Free ride back to the states with all the trimmings.
To: TChris
there really wasn't any DNA, except a minute trace on her underwear, which they said could easily have been placed on the pants by "Inspector #5" at the factory.

To: Fawn
Not surprising. Karr has reasons for "confessing", but from the get-go things didn't match up.
As this progresses we'll learn just how twisted he is- I suspect we have just scratched the surface.

There is no doubt he is a perv. They should still pursue charges related to child porn, and anything else they can think of.

I think the Boulder DA is getting her legal advice from the Durham DA. Both cases are full of holes.
To: shankbear
Get him for making false statements to the authorities.
But we'd all be better off if they'd simply left him in Thailand.
To: veronica
Maybe he's not so much of a loon. He had warrants here apparently for child pornography, but was also facing charges in Thailand. Maybe he did this to insure that he'd be extradited and face time here rather than in Thailand.

There was just too much wacky crap with this guy anyway. Yes, he is a perv who likes little kids---but too much outta sync as far as Ramsey murder goes. Just craving for some publicity? Plus I really can't put together the wanna be transexual stuff and child murder.

The DNA was degraded -but there was enough to EXCLUDE someone. It obviously excluded him.

Most reports also refer to DNA obtained from underneath her fingernails...but that could be anything - she was a six year old kid, after all.

So he gets out of a Thai jail... (shudder at the thought of being a child molester in a Thai jail)
And gets a free ride back to the states where he will not be brought up on charges for the Benet murder.....
AND can't be charged with the crimes in Thailand, unless they send him back there. I doubt if Thailand is so interested in him as to pay to bring him back and try him.
Bottom Line - He walks scott-free among our children.

I haven't been following this too much but I think I did see him say he was there when she died...not that he killed her. I could have missed a lot but I don't really care to hear more about this case. Ditto all the other "Greta type" reports.

I feel bad for the Ramsey family. I was hoping this would come to a close. But, one day it will. Who ever killed her will (or has already) kill again.

...look, the guy gets out of a Thai jail, a free ride home (business class),a book deal, movie deal( Tom Cruise lead of course)and he spends some time on a cookie farm and then he goes free. He'll join up with Cindy Sheehan and Code Pink and get on the ballot running with Dean in "08".....so what's so strange about that?

Prisons in Thailand - Amnesty InternationalTen people were executed by machine-gun fire and at least 72 people were sentenced to death in 2001. At the end of the year some 300 people remained under sentence of death. Poor prison conditions and ill-treatment of prisoners and detainees, including severe beatings, continued to be reported. Conditions in many prisons and police lock-ups continued to constitute cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment. For example, death-row prisoners were kept in heavy shackles for prolonged periods. Five inmates were reportedly beaten to death by prison guards in April when they attempted to escape from Klong Prem Prison north of Bangkok. Beatings of African and Burmese prisoners by other prisoners under the supervision of guards were reported in Lard Yao Prison in Nonthaburi Province.
Damn smart of Karr to fool the US authorities into extraditing him back to the soft comfort of American prisons, where he can now even get free condoms for use with his cell-mates in some jurisdictions.
