Eagles up and prayers for a quick and full recovery for Col. Jeff Cooper, long-time master of both rifle and sidearm, soldier, historian and a true-blue, red-blloded all American patriot.

Thanks for the post. I never miss a "Gunner's Guru" of Jeff's. Several of his books are considered the ultimate references for shooting.

Jeff Cooper's Commentaries

Very worthwhile reading.

The man is in his 90's. I'll pray for God's will to be done. There may be pain issues and other travails of age.

But the man is an icon of American pistolcraft. It's up to us to pass his legacy along to others and to the young people. He's an original rugged individualist. A man's man. Definitely not PC! Said what he meant...and meant what he said.

Good morning.

Jeff Cooper is a legendary pistolero. He has taught many of today's shooters how it's done and the school he is affiliated with, Gunsite Ranch, offers excellent training with most types of firearms any of us are likely to have to use.

Good luck to Jeff Cooper.

The news I am seeing is not good. From the other forum:
Latest update at 5:40AM is there is nothing else that can be done. The Colonel has left
instructions not to resuscitate and has asked to be returned home to the ranch to die.

It appears to be only a matter of time now.

And this:

I received the following from Col. Cooper's daughter Lindy today:

"The latest is not good.

It has been determined that Dad is not strong enough to undergo the kyphoplasty
procedure. His lungs and heart are starting to fail.

He will be coming home from the hospital either today or tomorrow and Mom will have
hospice care in the home. I will be driving up tomorrow to do what I can to help.

Thanks for your interest.
Lindy"

Again, I am just passing on info I have seen on the other forum. I really wish it was better news.

Outstanding Cooper quote. Here's another: "Owning a handgun doesn't make you armed any more than owning a guitar makes you a musician."

Get well Colonel, and God Bless.

Prayers up for Colonel Cooper, his family and close friends.

I have enjoyed his column since I first read it, and it is the first thing I read when the magazine comes in.

May God bless him for his forthright commentary and the inspiration it has brought all of us who have read it.

He's quoted incessantly by firearms instructors all over the world - Jeff Cooper's Four Rules:

Treat all firearms as if loaded all the time.
Never point your firearm at anything you don't want to destroy.
Never touch the trigger until you want the firearm to go off.
Always be sure of your target and its backstop.

Sounds pretty serious for the good Colonel. Prayers up.

Our thoughts and prayers go out in support of Colonel Cooper and his family. I had the great fortune to get to know Col. Cooper while attending Gunsite. How special it was to listen to his stories and take instruction from him. He and his staff have no equal.

The two certainties in this world . . . well, a really good lawyer, a really good CPA, and a last-minute Presidential pardon (why, hello, Mr. Rich!) can get you out of the one, there's nothing to do about the other.

Colonel Cooper, enjoy your well-deserved place of honor in Valhalla.

wikipedia is a left wing front posing as an "information" source.
You're so obtuse it's unbelievable! And I say this after having read some of your replies on several threads. Here, however, you take the cake.
If mostly left wing slanted submissions are sent in then what do you expect it to be?

Have you ever even considered their home page statement?
Welcome to Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia that anyone can edit.
Attitudes like yours will ensure it will continue to be left wing. Quit whining and go submit an edit to the damn thing if you don't like what's written!
The winners write the history books. They usually wait for it to be over, but nothing is usual these days. You're admitting defeat before the war is over.
Isn't it great to be living in such interesting times!
