HOLLYWOOD - Hollywood activist George Clooney has launched a scathing attack on the media, accusing journalists and producers of neglecting their responsibilities to their country. The Ocean's Eleven star is a vocal opponent of President George W. Bush--and he believes the media has betrayed the public by not reporting the truth about the Bush administration.
And Clooney, who joined Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel last week to address the United Nations Security Council about the problems in Darfur, blames the American public for focusing on reality TV shows instead of real news.

Why, it sounds like a Vast Right Wing Conspiracy!
"...he believes the media has betrayed the public by not reporting the truth about the Bush administration. "
Somehow I agree with that statement but not in the same way whats his face does.
Actors act!!!! That is all the a-wipe is doing. Only one of them had real cajones and his name was Reagan.
Run your mouth George....and piss off those in the red states.
Clooney. . . blames the American public for focusing on reality TV shows instead of real news.
This comment from one who makes his living by making movies which are directed at focusing the publics attention on him and not the real problems in the world. What a hypocrite.
Well I'll agree with that part.
Everything else is Barbara Streisand.
Oh really...how so?
Yeah, George, your fans are screwy.
Sure, THAT will sell.
>>he believes the media has betrayed the public by not reporting the truth about the Bush administration.<<
Either he is a self absorbed idiot, or he knows something.
I vote for the former.
The legacy of the Bent One is that Hollywood is now a political force purchased with donations to the DNC, and they are "entitled" now to a forum for espousing their bent views in front of the American public, as if they have the eutopian answers to all the world's problems in their pin heads..........
cLOONEY you idiot. The media's done all it can. Where shall we start? Plamegate? Rathergate? Gitmogate? 9-11 history cover-up-gate? Katrinagate? Iraqgate?
LIES LIES AND MORE LIES. LEAVE THEM ALONE LOONEY. THEY'VE DONE EVERYTHING THE COULD DO AND MORE FOR YOUR SORRY ASS POLITICAL VIEWS.
"This comment from one who makes his living by making movies which are directed at focusing the publics attention on him and not the real problems in the world. What a hypocrite."
You beat me to it.
That reminds me . Did you see the picture of Babs sagging braless boobs today.. EEEEUUUUUUUwww!
How dare you insult President Clooney.
I'm grateful Rosemary didn't live to see this.
In this movie, Murrow bewailed the big media too as giving too much entertainment to Joe Six Pack. This is elititism to the extreme.
Joe Six Pack liked Milton Berle then and he loves American Idol today. Murrow and Clooney would like to manage the media like Communist China does.
Typical liberal rant. No specifics, just generic whining.
Poor George... he was born with a sliver in his pants.
It's scary to think what the moonbat's idea of balance would be.
Thank the stars I read this BEFORE dinner.
"The media's failings reflect on the rest of us too. It took, what, three months after September 11 before reality shows became big again? There's a responsibility to be upheld."
Sorry. The hypocrasy of this loon just made my blood boil faster.
"Rosemary's Baby" nephew is on the loose again.
Keep it up Klooney. Help bring us victory in November...
This from a guy who collects "Victoria's Secret "catalogues? Or was it "TV Guides"?
someone send Clooney the Clinton Body Count newsletter subcription
BUT BUT BUT, Peter Jennings and Mike Wallace said that they have to allegiance to America when it comes to reporting.
Oh wait, Looney Clooney is urging for journalists to speak out against this administration, not warn troops of an impending ambush.
[George's parents' house]
(Frank and Ricky are going through Frank's TV Guide collection. The coffee table is covered in boxes of the magazine.)
RICKY: I like the special fall preview issues the best.
FRANK: Those. I've been saving those from the beginning.
(The doorbell rings.)
RICKY: These are worth like, a lot of money.
(Estelle opens the door, to find Elaine.)
ESTELLE: Oh, hello Elaine!
ELAINE: Hello. (she enters)
RICKY: (jumping to his feet) Elaine! Hello! You look scrumptious.
(Elaine looks nervous and surprised.)
FRANK: Why'd you take my TV Guide?
ELAINE: (placatory) I'm so sorry about that Mr Costanza, but look. Look, I brought you another one. (hands it over)
RICKY: I made this for you.
ELAINE: (accepts reluctantly) Oh, thank you.
FRANK: (examining magazine) What is this? You got stains all over it! What the hell'd you do?
RICKY: Hey, you can't talk to her like that.
FRANK: (yelling) I'll talk to her any way I want!
RICKY: Come on Elaine, let's go.
(As Ricky strides over to Elaine, he catches the coffee table with his leg. It tips up with the weight of the TV Guide collection and falls over with a crash.)
ESTELLE: My coffee table!
He is correct! The media hasn't given a very good accounting of our president. The MSM is about stirring up bias, misinformation and suspicion about the Bush administration. I'd like to see Clooney lean over and start grilling Katie Couric with those questions. She would punch him dead in the face.
PAGING JASON BLAIR...
LATEST ZOGBY POLL...
AL REUTERS PHOTOS TO SURFACE SOON...
Why can't more movie and TV stars be like 24's Mary Lynn Rajskub? (CHLOE!!). These is a direct quote:
"I got into acting to avoid politics of any sort. And so I could remain in a fantasy world."
and at a TCA event "She called herself a blank slate politically" (this came from a Washington Post blog)
I remember hearing some good things about a guy named John Wayne too.
There, fixed it. : )
What next George, are you going to start bottling your own farts and selling them as divine wisdom aroma therapy?
