Tackle ejected for stomping on head

Tennessee defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth was ejected early in the third quarter Sunday after he kicked Dallas center Andre Gurode in the face. Now the tackle expects to be punished and knows he deserves it.

"What I did out there was disgusting," Haynesworth said. "It doesn't matter what the league does to me. The way I feel right now, you just can't describe it."

Julius Jones had just scored on a 5-yard run, putting Dallas up 20-6 in what wound up as a 45-14 victory. Gurode's helmet came off, and Haynesworth, standing over him, used his right foot to kick Gurode in the head.

Gurode said they hadn't been talking or having any exchanges that led to Haynesworth kicking him twice. He received stitches above his forehead and beneath his eye.

"In all my years of football, this has never happened to me. I've never been kicked in the face like this, and I've never seen anybody kick nobody else in the face," Gurode said.

He should be arrested. That wasn't unnecessary roughness, that was aggravated assault. At the very least Gurode should suit him.

Oh Yeah...... How 'bout those Cowboys !!!!!

I agree.

He's about to be sued. He ought to be arrested.

I have a feeling that the players have their own type of justice that will hurt more than the legal consequences.

Have mercy on poor old Albert. Isn't him playing the rest of the season for the Titans punishment enough for you?

(I live in Nashville, and remember the scams and lies our then mayor, now Democratic governor pulled to get the Titans to come here. I'm enjoying my dose of schadenfreude, but I wish the Cowboys had broken 50 today. Go Chicago Bears!)

I'll have to see it to decide what I think the punishment should be. Sounds pretty bad, though... Anywhere from a fine and suspension to a lifetime ban and imprisonment.

A GROSS understatement.

This thug should be kicked off the team.

I guess sportsmanship is not taught in midget football anymore.

Someone just doesn’t start doing things like this out of the blue. Not without some kind of brain injury. Did this guy get his bell rung recently.

Looked like more of a prod than a stomp. That indicates that his spikes must have been fairly sharp though.

I agree, this guy ought to be up on charges. The NFL for its part has to eject him from the league if it doesn't want that type of thing to become commonplace.

"He should be arrested.. that was aggravated assault."

If you or I were observed kicking someone in the face there is no question that we'd be arrested. No question. We'd be subdued and handcuffed on the spot.

It's even weird to say it. Some thing is going on. Not just this story but in general. This world ain't right.

The first one was blocked from the camera view, but looked like a stomp. The second one was a scrape across the face with his cleats. Competition gets pretty vicious, but you can't lose control like that. The guy weighs 320 pounds.

He could have assault charges filed on him for this. I'll bet he gets slapped with a $75,000 fine and a four game suspension. As mad as Fisher was, he might get traded.

I missed it then. The only clip I saw was during the NBC halftime show which showed the second part.
