I love when they call drug-dealers entrepreneurs. Well at least he won't get any more of my tax dollars. Though his kids sure will.

"...died Feb.7 of gunshot wounds on Martin Luther King Boulevard."

Who was it who said there's more killings on Martin Luther King (boulevard, street, avenue, whatever) than on any other street in America's cities?

Nice legacy.

Didn't Chris Rock point out that when a city has a street named after Martin Luther King, it's always in the worst part of town?

Did you all also notice that he had thirteen (living) brothers and sisters! And that his eight brothers had four different last names amongst them.

Also notice that he had a "companion" rather than a "wife".

I have visited several cities with a MLK "street" and never seen a single one I would want to spend any time on.

But I have no trouble walking down "Sweet" Auburn Avenue where MLK Jr was born and raised.

The term "Drug Dealer" is quite pejorative and Not PC.

The Correct Term is "Pharmaceutical Entrepreneur."

And the 10 year old kid that worked for him as his look-out was a "Pharmaceutical Rep."

These people are doing their children a real disservice by giving them these sort of names.

I think it was Thomas Sowell who said they are doomed to working in grocery stores and gas stations because nobody would give their resume a second look.

"Taylor and Larmondo “Flair” Allen died in the 2300 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard after being riddled with bullets.

But instead of murder, which carries automatic life in prison, the jury came back with the lesser charge of manslaughter for Taylor’s killing and failed to reach any verdict on the second murder charge, in which prosecutors blamed Toney for the death of his one-time drug-dealing partner, Allen."

I still find it distasteful and hateful to make fun of 9 kids who obviously are having a terrible upbringing. Any normal person would be saddened by this story rather than finding glee in the human misery...

I seem to have missed all the posts "making fun" of the children, and gosh, I don't see any showing glee for human misery either. Maybe you see some posts that the rest of us can't see. Feel free to quote from one of them if you like.

And welcome to FR.

Nawlins, just - FILL IT IN.

N.O. is a bowl below sea level that billions are being spent upon wastefully in futile attempt to preserve what is, in effect, a massive cofferdam next to the Mississippi river holding thousands of perverts, felons, and deviants, all crawling around looking for fun-seeking victims to exploit.

Since the place is SINKING several inches each year, even filling in the 'bowl' with, say, blocks of recycled trash mixed in cement IS FUTILE!

Except for the port, ditch N.O. Abandon it. Let the delta flood to preserve the river delta WETLANDS. Save America BIG BUCKS.

In most cities, Martin Luther King Blvd, street, avenue or what have you, is a good place to stay away from, especially at night. You might run into the likes of this guy, or the guys who shot him, and you don't want to do that.

Chris Rock doesn't have to point it out. I'm in real estate and I can confirm that in any city it runs through the worse real estate in the city. Politicians had to name streets after MLK after the whole holiday thing happened. They named streets which were already in some of the worst areas - ie, the black concentrated areas. Nobody anywhere else in any city wants to have a street named after MLK and there is only political benefit to naming a street which is used and surrounded by those who think its a good thing.

As far as this dead drug dealer from New Orleans. Gosh, this guy could be the posterboy for the reasons that N.O. was a cesspool. And the self-destructive behavior of naming your kids unpronouncable and unspellable names is like naming your son Sue. You might as well sign them up for welfare at age 4 since you are pretty much condemning their lives to it by making them sound like comedy routine characters.

At this science website, http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2000/01/000121071306.htm

you can read that N.O. is sinking 3 feet per century and that, on average, the entire city is 8 feet below sea level right now. There's not much reason to save the 'Stench Quarter' since all its' 'amusements' are movable and do not depend upon location to exist.

The insane academics in the vicinity want to spend 14 Billion to save the Louisiana coast when just letting the 'sippi flood would do it. Go figure.
