Kitty Litter Cake -YUM

OR.. A MODIFICATION of book

How to Lose friends & Horrify people?

Thinking of LInda, and Marcia & Karen & Jean & others with Kitty rescue groups.. what a hoot to bring to the next meeting for refreshments.

Or Nancy Y..one of your catering gigs?

Or JohnW and Bill B how about your next singles meeting? Good way to guarantee you will REMAIN single!

Or maybe at our next potluck at Walton Hills Church of Christ.. They already think I am weird there. Might as well close the case. I want to try it!!!!

Is this worse than....DIRT...for dessert??? Thanks to FReeper friend Ray.. BADRAY..for sharing one of his favorite recipes –and what do you know we are posting a thread together of such political depth & savvy.

This is for all you cooks out there looking for something a little different.........YES! Your next political rally!

WANT TO HAVE FUN AT A PARTY? PREPARE THIS RECIPE! COMPLETELY EDIBLE,

On a recent visit to our veterinarian to get shots for our cat I found this recipe on the waiting room bulletin board. After recovering from hysterical laughter, I obtained a copy from the office staff so my wife could make it, which she refused to do. I took it to work and gave the recipe to a lady at work who loves cats. The pictures below show the results of her work. It doesn't look very nice, but it's actually quite tasty, so I decided to pass it along.

CAKE INGREDIENTS:

1 box spice or German chocolate cake mix
1 box of white cake mix
1 package white sandwich cookies
1 large package vanilla instant pudding mix
A few drops green food coloring
12 small Tootsie Rolls or equivalent

SERVING "DISHES AND UTENSILS"
1 NEW cat-litter box
1 NEW cat-litter box liner
1 NEW pooper scooper

1) Prepare and bake cake mixes, according to directions, in any size pan. Prepare pudding and chill. Crumble cookies in small batches in blender or food processor. Add a few drops of green food coloring to 1 cup of cookie crumbs. Mix with a fork or shake in a jar. Set aside.

2) When cakes are at room temperature, crumble them into a large bowl. Toss with half of the remaining cookie crumbs and enough pudding to make the mixture moist but not soggy. Place liner in litter box and pour in mixture.

3) Unwrap 3 Tootsie Rolls and heat in a microwave until soft and pliable. Shape
the blunt ends into slightly curved points. Repeat with three more rolls. Bury the rolls decoratively in the cake mixture. Sprinkle remaining white cookie crumbs over the mixture, then scatter green crumbs lightly over top.

4) Heat 5 more Tootsie Rolls until almost melted. Scrape them on top of the cake and sprinkle with crumbs from the "litter box". Heat the remaining Tootsie Roll until pliable and hang it over the edge of the box. Place box on a sheet of newspaper and serve with scooper. Enjoy!

We had a church potluck a couple years back where the theme was "Road Kill" cafe. Creative and inventive ways of making food and/or titles appear to be road kill. Someone brought this. Not really keeping in the theme, but it was actually pretty good.

Cant you imagine the response? I had a dinner party at my home a few years back. I called it a barbarian Italian dinner.

Regular Italian fare..spaghetti, salad, garlic bread, dessert etc..but NO silverware!. I offered a set of surgical gloves for use.

All attended had a blast & said it was one of the most enjoyable dinners they attended.

My mother (who I lived with & whose house it was at ) was HORRIFIED

It is fun to try different things & crawl out of the conformist mold now & then

wow.. glad to hear a LIVE report. Road Kill cafe..sounds interesting..

At a church potluck for our SS class for St. Pats a few years back my hubby and I prepared a FULL dinner with everything green. Mashed potatoes, gravy, turkey, salad(easy) & green beans (easy).. People were a little squeamish but enjoyed.

One lady (4 months preggers) got very sick & had to go home.

I've seen this before for kids halloween parties.
It is HILARIOUS! Also saw a snack on the same website for
"pus pockets" (made with mozarella cheese and pita bread)

If people know you are a little off the wall, they will accept it.. but if not, their diet gets a break for day!
