It's my Freerepublic Anniversary!

It was exactly one year ago today that I first joined Freerepublic! It's been a great year. I love this site, we talk about everything, disagreements are usually kept polite and civil, and I really feel a sense of friendship among my fellow Freepers. Thanks for everything, you guys, I just hope my future years here go as well as this first one did!

Great vanity....
To expand the experience exponentially, take a road trip to DC. Go to Walter Reed on a Friday evening and meet and rub shoulders with some live FReepers.
There is no way to evaluate the experience in $$$. Gather some bucks and go.

Reminded me ... tomorrow 11/03/'06 will be my 8 year anniversary at FR. Started as lurker in the late summer of '98 ... attended the FR March for Freedom rally in Washington, DC October 31st of that year ... and, upon returning home, signed on as a member.

I don't go there, but I used to frequent another blog, themuseumofleftwinglunacy. It is pretty much dead now (Its last article posted was in I believe May), but when it was up and running, even though it was a conservative blog, we were constantly bombarded by the inflammatory and idiotic comments made by liberal trolls. Often, we'd be having a conversation about one topic (i.e. the ACLU, the government becoming stricter against sex offenders) when one of the liberal trolls would make a comment that had nothing to do with the matter at hand, such as "Well, Bush's approval numbers are down, you dumb rednecks!", and the conversation would almost always shift away from what was actually the matter at hand as a result. I'm so glad that doesn't happen here, the moderators here do a great job of keeping discussions on topic, and keeping the trolls at bay.
