does anyone here know how to research (provide an internet URL) to find out what state legislative district a given city/town might be in?

Try looking up the Secretary of State's office for the state on the web, and then look for the board of election. That will likely have the info you need.

Go to the Secretary of State website for the state in question. They usually will have a search of some kind.
