Joe Scarborough has Bob Shrum and Pat Buchanan on and they are talking about the voting machines. FWIW, All their faces look glum so that tells me that the media knows the GOP is ahead.
Faces also look very glum on CNN.
Screenshots, anyone?
What'd these 3 do? Spend the night together?
Last night, it was a Bloodbath for Republicans, or some such crap
These machines don't only fail in Democrat areas.
This is very good news. I still have faith that Americans will stay with W's agenda and vote Republican.
Yeah Joe and his fake "conservatives" like Tucker and Pat with their heads up their arse is no surprise.
BUMP for glum for Joe and Pat. :-)
If all three commit suicide tomorrow, the world would be a better place.
For the first time that I can remember on election day, I've kept the news off my television today. Fox News Channel has gotten so bad, I won't give them the benefit of my rating point.
I may watch a little tonight, to see a few sad faces tonight, but I'm watching Dancing with the Stars first!
Any CNN faces yet? This morning it was like Christmas there and at NBC. Pumpkinface Russert had his chalkboard out and was grinning like a cheshire cat and actually said "Santa Claus has arrived!", referring to the possibility of some close race computations but "we know what he meant".
Glum...da..dum..dum.......
Yeah Joe and his fake "conservatives" like Tucker and Pat with their heads up their arse is no surprise.
_____________
I heard Tucker last night on Hardball predict the Dems will pick up six senate seats.
LOL
I mean, come on!
Seeing CNN's Judy Woodruff with a constipated look on her face when the election results come in has always been priceless.
Even Julian Epstein on CNN isnt sure of a house victory..
but then bay buchanan isnt either.
GLOOOOOOOM!!! DOOOOOOOOM!!!!
Shades of '04. I'm lovin it!
Schadenfreude generator warming up.
There are more problems in Democrat areas simply because Democrats generally elect less competent elections officials.
It's very rare that the machines are actually the problem.
If they did it on the air they could double their ratings?? Isn't Pukeannan a Reform Party member?
Pray for W and The Election
Funny you say that. The highlight of 2002 was turning to CNN at 11PM (just for a laugh) and getting just what I wanted, the faces of Judy Woodruff and Aaron Brown looking as if they just eaten a bad pistachio.
The machines are only as smart as the person using them. Assuming the machines haven't been tampered with beforhand.
If they did a lottery to see who gets to play Dr. Kevorkian, they'd make millions.
Or watching all those sensitive lower-level newscritters with "fabulous" suits reporting the facts but deep down you could tell they were saying "damit damit damit" to themselves.
I have vowed to go about my business and watch Dancing as well. I will try to wait until morning to check for results....but won't hold my breath in the process.
"Deeply saddened"
Machines? I got a black market and a piece of paper with printing on both side. Oh yes, and in Illinois we get to vote on immediate withdrawal from Iraq.
No, a black MARKER, not a black market!
LOL I just noticed your MSDNC.
I voted with a paper ballot and a #2 pencil.
Last election it was a stick pin but guess they didn't want any hanging chads this time.
To my everlasting horror i was out to dinner with the Supremes ruled on the Bush/Gore election. I missed it.
But I do remember screenshots of sad dems,,it gladdened my heart.
Wonder what color Katie AlCouric will wear tonite.
They do have one electronic voting machine, but it's tailored for the disabled.
Good question. I may have to peek just to see her costume.
That may be that they expect a Democrat house with just a few votes to spare, and GOP down to 51 or 52 Senate seats. That's the conventional wisdon of the moment. They were hoping for more a few weeks ago.
Is Claire Shipman still working somewhere? I remember she could barely hold her tears back when they finally called Florida for Bush after the false call for Gore.
Did you know that MSNBC talk host and former Republican Congressman Joe Scarborough is an attorney with Pensacola, Fla.'s Levin Papantonio, one of the nation's premier mass tort firms, which has its fingers in everything from asbestos, breast implants and prescription drugs to aviation accidents to tobacco to Wall Street to environmentalist assaults on factory farming? Or that Scarborough continues on the firm's payroll despite his on-air fame? We didn't. Now Scarborough has gotten in a bit of trouble by inviting name partner Mike Papantonio to come on the show and attack "a wood-preserving company called Osmose, saying it makes a dangerous product used in playground equipment and has 'figured out how to poison our children and make a profit in the meantime.'" -- all without mentioning that Papantonio is his law partner and that his/their firm happens to be suing Osmose. What's the conventional wisdom of the moment on the Senate?
This is my view of how voting should go.
1. Paper ballots where you have to fill in the little circle of choice with a black pen.
2. You must show photo ID and a voter registration card.
3. If you can't do either of these, you lose your right to vote.
And this year we actually had a machine in which to feed out ballots. Instead of a cardboard box.
The polling place here has two big metal boxes with a big lock on it (a big lockbox? :) ), the stubs go in one and the ballots go in another.
Actually I stole that from Rush. :^)
Absolutely right. I agree with you.
MSDNC. Clever!
We get to keep our stubs and we get an "I voted" sticker. Gotta love these small towns.
Yep! That's one good thing about living in a small town. In fact, one of the poll workers is a relative of mine. She don't mind the job, she just hates the extended hours. Our polling place used to open at noon and close at 8:00p.m., now it opens at 7:00a.m. and closes at 8:00p.m.
Ours are 6 am to 7 pm.
It seems to be a Dem gain of 3-4 seats. But they were hoping for 6-7 just 2 or 3 weeks ago. I don't know if the CW is right or not but it's what most people are saying. (Actually "what most people are saying" is the definition of CW.)
Works for me.
And if you are old or have the shakes, infirmity or you are crippled, you may have 1 assistant who must be observed by 2 officials (1 from each major party).
