The Dems won in spite of Dean.

That would be great -

She would fail and Senators don't make good Presidential candidates.

Okay folks. It's time to expand our point of perception. Tonight was everything I have feared in a political sense. But, (and you knew it was coming) the outcome tonight was just EXACTLY what The Lord wanted to happen. Why? I don't know, but my guesses bring fear to my heart for our nation.

I don't think that any GOTV exercise, or campaign strategy would have put the pubbies over the top. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

As long as we are being "cheerful" CNN is saying the big strategy guru/winner tonight is Dean.

Just because the other team fumbled three times inside their own 30 and threw three INT's on wounded quails, doesn't mean the winning coach is some kind of new Lombardi.

This is great news-Hillary will get absolutely nothing done except maybe preside over an impeachment hearing-then all her scandals will resurface again

Actually, I think they are going to act about as timid as a cat in a room full of rocking chairs. They have reached nervana and don't want to rock the boat.

This could actually be a rather interesting period. Just watching the media give them a figurative blow-job every evening will be interesting in and of itself.

I doubt Cronkite will last the week, he'll be so thrilled.

Well when you lose you eat it. How do you think Bush feels tonight? When he needed the REP PARTY WHERE WERE THEY. Well keep worshipping the dead president Reagan and dreaming of an America when he was in control because of your dreams of Reagan they will impeach this pres. It is coming and whose fault is it no bodys but the people and conservative talk show hosts who always condemed the pres rather then rally the troops. Well thanks to these people like fox news , even Hannity , with his I do not always agree with the pres we now have a party who will blow them out of the water. As for me I tried today the radio and tv in my house are not set on off to the very same people who were so sicking they condemed the pres so mamy times they lost us the congress. It is the end of Fox, Hannity , Laura and Beck . Do you really think they will not plot to destroy talk radio and fox news , I bet it is in the works now. I would say in 2 years the only one who might be lucky enough to be standing is Rush.

So, we'll have a whole female-lead congress. In a time of war.

Well, at least those Democrats will have an excuse for not having the balls to fight.

Well, I might reconsider and give a point on what someone mentioned tonight as a Dem theme that worked, and that was the corruption thing. Pelosi wanted to retail that one early on, but they got derailed by Congressman Jefferson. Someone pointed out that, as much or more as the Foley affair, the whole corruption charge was a spear aimed right at the heart of the conservatives. It worked because the "pigs at the trough", aka the Yacht Club, have no consciences or values, but only account balances. It was a good divider. Even the Jefferson equivocation ("they all do it") couldn't poison her poison.

.....might as mention Ortega getting elected in Nicaragua too

Now you're escalating from moderate evil to real evil.....Chavez is behind his rise, and with bombs suddenly going off in Mexico, now the Monimbo' scenario is suddenly alive again, this time with the Chinese instead of the Russians and their Old Left gang of thugs (East Germans, Czech Stasi types, Palestinians, N. Koreans, Cubans all wandering around Nicaragua doing things, back in the Sandinista days) supporting Chavez from afar.

So far the Russians are Chavez's armorers, not his allies -- I think. But he is trying to involve the Chinese, and they're already players because of their geostrategic interest in the Canal (which we have got to make go away).

Remember the old Sandinista and Cuban brag, "we'll be in El Paso by 1995"?

I would guess it would be in a year, allowing one year to run. She'll probably play it by ear and try and choose the best time to start. A lot may depend on what goes on between now and then (good or bad) and she can try and catch the right wave and ride on in.

I'd take the first George and second George over the clintons any day of the week. Problem with some people is that they'd cut their nose to spite their face. Well, enjoy watching hillary become the next presidential nominee or perhaps even the next president. She never would have gotten this far if not for perot and those who voted for him.

Sure REagan was a good president. I've seen people here put him on a pedestal, but the man was not perfect.
I've seen people here criticize the current president for his immigration plan, while ignoring or conveniently forgetting the fact that Reagan passed an amnesty bill.
Fact of the matter is, everyone is different, you're not going to get someone who will be exactly like Reagan.
