OK, just one last question...(Vanity)
Aussie Dasher | 9 November 2006 | Aussie Dasher

Posted on 11/08/2006 8:53:02 PM PST by Aussie Dasher

I promise, this is my last vanity (for a while!)...but I'm very keen to know FReepers views on this one.

With (former) Senator George Allen now on the electoral rotiserie and clearly not a contender for 2008, who is going to keep Hitlery out of the White House?

Is there another Ronald Reagan lurking somewhere in the Republican Party?

Who can inspire the conservative masses to renew their faith in the GOP and get off their bums and vote? Who can bring those people who elected Dubya twice back to the polls, and free the Congress from 'Rat control?

No longer can we rely on the "Nobody will vote for Mrs. BJ" defense. We need someone who can, and will beat her. Better still, we need someone who can kick her fat butt back to NY, Arkansas, Chicago or wherever the hell she's from this week.

Who will it be? Do we have a political saviour out there? Will conservatives roar again, and who will lead that roar?

We've got Rudy Giuliani, but he's not so very conservative as we might like. But one thing about Rudy, his disdain for the MSM is iron-clad.

freepers will scream and yell, but there isn't time to develop a current "unknown" perfect conservative that everyone on FR wants, to emerge and be a national candidate in such a short time.

She will not be the Dem nominee, she has lots of enemies in the Democrat party.

Hillary, Obama and John McCain are the darlings of the MSM, not the American Public.

Well, the one-issue, anti-immigrant voters got their wish. They taught the GOP a lesson by kicking out some of the most conservative Senators (Allen, Santorum). So now we're stuck with McCain, Guliani, or Romney as our nominees in 2008.

Well done, folks!

Shout it from the hilltops:

Obama has a sweetheart land deal problem back home.

It's been mentioned here on FR a number of times. Obama is dirty with a guy named Rezko, who also looks like he's going to take Illinois Gov. Blagojevich down as well.

The answer is that there're several dozen guys who could handle the task and the good news is that nobody has any sort of a lock on it. It'll be like an old style convention, first one anybody will have seen in decades.

We've got Rudy Giuliani, but he's not so very conservative ...

NO MORE LIBERALS! Republicans acting like Democrats got us into this mess! Its time for a real conservative candidate. Keep in mind the opposition will cast any conservative that we could stand behind as some kind of "right wing extremist". So, suck it up. Do not move left, and stand up for what we know is right.

Unless one is willing to imagine a sudden stature acquisition by the 2008 hillary-beater, the choice of already statured ones is very limited. I'd say Rudy Giuliani. Not an ideal candidate, but acceptable - one could live with such candidacy.

I am for Rudy right now.

After going through a Governor's election along with a State Rep election by two Mormons, I wouldn't support Romney for anything. People can say what they want but it is my right to say no to Romney. You would have to be in our shoes here in OK to understand and I don't want to post it on an open forum, but I have had it.

"Jeb Bush?"

LOL, I think this Bush killed it for his brother. In fact, what is up with all you people who want Jeb? I know he is a good governor, and I'm sure he's a swell guy, but WTF! Are the only three families entitled to rule the United Kingdom of America Bush, Clinton, and Kennedy? NO! Thats because we are not a monarchy, or an oligarchy, we are a Republic, The United States of America! There is just NO WAY I can vote for a Clinton, or a Bush for president. I know we can do better.

Here, catch. It's a bar of soap. I'm sure you know what to do with it..... Mouth clean, now? Good.

The question I believe was who is a conservative that people like. Sadly, he was the only person I could think of. I wouldn't even recommend my governor. No heroes, right now.

I don't think Condi can possibly win against Hillary or even Obama. Bill Frist may be a bit spineless, but he is better than McCain. McCain will be 72 by 2008, that's pretty darn old. To me at least, Frist conveys a sense of competence.
