I've been using the Windows Live Mail Beta for about a week now. Today, I've been trying for a couple hours but cannot login. The response is, "Server Too Busy -- We are experiencing higher than normal volume and are therefore unable to service your request at this time."
Mrs. Newgeezer, at home, is able to login to her Hotmail account. So, I figure it's either a problem affecting only certain Hotmail servers OR it's something at my work location.
(Yes, I'm logged in to FR. No, I am not logged in to Hotmail.)
This is series...
I had that problem, too.
We are experiencing higher than normal volume and are therefore unable to service your request at this time. Try one of the following:
In your browser, click Refresh
In your browser, click Back, and try again
Wait a few minutes and try again
We apologize for this inconvenience.
Party pooper!
(This is the message I got):

Yes. But I was later able to log in.
I can't either. I'll get it later. Try not to have withdrawal!!! :D
Weird. I have 2 Hotmail accounts. I can access 1 but not the other. I get the "Server too Busy" message on my primary account.
That might confirm that the problem is occurring only on certain servers.
Thanks!

I've been getting that message for the last 2 hours.
This is series and Hugh......
3 hours now I've been trying to log in. This is the last straw for me.
If I had my cell phone, I'd sign up for Gmail.
I'll be in the shower...
"We are experiencing higher than normal volume ..."
Wouldn't let me on.

to hype their machines!)
Gmail is so superior to Hotmail in every way, I was just about to abandon my Hotmail accounts completely. Then, I tried the Windows Live Mail beta. It's a HUGE improvement but, I remain unconvinced it's as good as Gmail. (And that's before this happened.)
With your beeber?
Don't be silly! That would really stune me!
My bad, sounds like I need halp from jon carry.
Wai, arr yu stock in Eerak, two?
I went to log in to Hotmail and received the same message. I then hit the "back" button and Hotmail loaded from there. I don't know if that would work for anyone else, but it might be worth a try.
Is your computer turned on?
Drat, I forgot to preemptively kill that one. Foiled again.
No, I still use Hotmail as my primary email account.
Regardless, that's the error message you'll see whenever you try to save an Excel spreadsheet as .CSV when there's any sort of formatting (font face, size, style, etc.).
Since you don't need any formatting for what you're doing, just click 'Yes' and give it a shot, if you haven't already.
If you want to be careful, try it with just a few of your contacts and see what happens. Then, if you don't like the results and need to delete them from Gmail, there won't be so many to delete.
Oh well, I tried clicking yes and then when I tried importing the file it failed.
I'll turn to my guru now to walk me through it (my brother)
Yes, I had difficulty early in the day, but, since I usually get little besides unwanted advertising and anonymous hate mail, I was not overly troubled by that delay.
Hotmail's been working for me today.
I think there is a malware virus problem with Hotmail. I signed on to my hotmail account last night and my anti-virus sent up all the alarms to stay away. Shut down the browser window I was using to view hotmail.
This morning as my computer went through its morning virus scan at sign on I had to remove malware. Nothing I was doing on a brief opening of Hotmail last night would have found me the cause.
I never open attachments from anyone.
And I can not get into Hotmail this morning. Same warning as others...Server Too Busy.
Maybe what you are seeing with your GMail reference is a trojan virus mixing up you Hotmail with your GMail. Do a scan and let us know.
