Ahh..another Friday night of doing nothing but watching ice hockey. A great match-up tonight, the Sabres vs. the Penguins. It's Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby against Maxim Afinogenov and Jaroslav Spacek.
Speaking of which, Afinogenov just scored!!!!!!!!! 1-0 now.
We in St. Louis had a hockey team once. Now we've only got the Blues.

Oooohhh!! Afinogenov almost scored again! Pens' goalie just barely blocked it. How much you wanna bet Max is gonna pull off a hat-trick before this game is over?
I'm guessing the first period ended during my snack break because there are a bunch of TSN guys talking at a desk who've been analyzing the game for the past 10 minutes...

AAAHH Afinogenov ALMOST made that! He was rushin' (well duh, he was born in Moscow! haha..) down the ice at top speed, the announcers were yelling, he shot quickly....and missed.
Yay! The Stars are doing really well this year.

Malkin takes his first shot (and misses :( ), and gets buried in the swarm of players around the goal, and a little slow to get up off the ice.
Malkin gets a penalty for interference on Spacek.

Crosby gets his skates sharpened in the middle of the period and has to hurry to get back on the ice not to miss his shift.

Yes, Stars are doing well so far; they really needed that win in Atlanta though - three goals in the first period is a great way to break out of a scoring slump!
Wouldn't you know that Patrick Stefan (first player picked by Thrashers - total bust) would play for Dallas and score a goal & an assist in beating his old team last night.

Fedor Tyutin has really mastered the hip check. He's pulled off a few nice ones tonight, and I've seen him do it in the past too. He's pretty good whe it comes to that.

Hehe..They just showed an interview with Marty Straka but his microphone wasn't working for the first few seconds so when the commentator asked him a question there was just silence while his mouth was moving.
I love watching Zambonis :0D In Canada they cheer when those things come out on the ice.
There's a commercial break now though so I don't get to see it :(

At the ice rink I go to all the little kids watch the Zamboni and try to touch the ice after the Zamboni goes over it. Then when they actually get on the ice they fall.
