I just signed my daugher and son up for next spings softball and baseball little league teams. Here in Orange County California it costs:

11 year old boy "AAA" - $160.00 9 year old girl "A" - $170.00

How do we compare with your local fees?

My ex say about $200, but it's $85 for 10 year old girls playing softball (a lot less for a uniform than boys get)

Don't know about now, but 25 years ago the Optimist Club paid for everything. It was all free back then, paid for by Club donations or team sponsors.

I just had to log on to answer this. I called my daughter. 20 bucks each for Little,Junior and Minor Leagues. We are in Washington Co,Maine as far away from Orange CO, CA as we could get. But we are the highest taxed state per capita.

Our sons last played with our local LL in 2005 when they were 9 and 11. At that time, it ran ~$40-45 per child, which included a nice uniform. The league runs a fundraising raffle early in the season, at which time we'd kick in another $10 or so per child, but it was always voluntary. There are a lot of good local sponsors, which I'm sure helps significantly with costs. Our local intramural organization run with the cooperation of the school district is a bit more expensive. I think it was on the order of $70-80 per child last year, including the cost of the uniform.
